⭐️Mission Moment⭐️ Mission team members, Josy and Paige had the pleasure of visiting Lapeer Plating and Plastics, Inc., where they had the opportunity to sit down with Human Resources Administrator, Joe Du Breuil. It was an insightful and inspiring visit that shed light on the incredible work being done at Lapeer Plating and Plastics. During our meeting with Joe, we learned that Lapeer Plating and Plastics is not just a manufacturing facility; it is a community that actively works towards creating opportunities for individuals facing barriers to employment. The company is strongly committed to inclusivity and actively seeks to empower those who may encounter challenges in finding meaningful work. Joe shared with us the initiatives in place at Lapeer Plating and Plastics to support individuals with barriers to employment. The company is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment, fostering a sense of belonging for everyone on the team. This commitment is not only admirable but also aligns with Goodwill’s values of diversity and equal opportunity. At Goodwill, we believe in the power of collaboration and the positive impact it can have on our community. It is inspiring to see organizations like Lapeer Plating and Plastics actively working towards creating a more inclusive workforce. They diligently engage with organizations such as the Lapeer branches of Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Community Mental Health, and the Intermediate School District. We are excited about the potential for future collaborations and the opportunity to support initiatives that break down barriers to employment. #missionmoment #lapeermichigan #goodwillmidmichigan #communitysupport #PowerOfWork

It's with profound sadness that I received the news of the closure of the Owensboro Daramic manufacturing plant, a place I once proudly called my workplace. I feel grief and an immense sense of loss. Reflecting on my time there, I remember the incredible people and the hard work we collectively put in day in and day out. Every employee there, both the salaried staff and the Local 726 International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, worked tirelessly to turn that plant around. We weren't just colleagues; we were a team dedicated to producing quality products and fostering a sense of camaraderie that made going to work more than just a job. The plant was more than a facility; it was a hub of innovation and a pillar of the local community. Polyethylene battery seperators were invented in the Owensboro facility and made there for 60+ Years. Wether you know it or not, Daramic likely had an impact on your life. The Owensboro plants failure serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing the manufacturing sector today. It's a tragedy not just for the employees directly affected but for the broader impact on families, local businesses, and the community at large. Losing a manufacturing plant isn't just losing jobs; it's losing a part of our shared history and identity and our entire industry suffers when American manufacturing fails. To my former colleagues and friends who find themselves navigating uncertain waters: my heart goes out to each and every one of you. I know firsthand the resilience and strength that defines our industry, and I believe in your ability to overcome this setback. If there's anything I can do to support you during this challenging time – whether it's providing job leads, offering references, or simply being a listening ear – please don't hesitate to reach out. In solidarity and with deep respect for our shared journey, Jon #Manufacturing #CommunitySupport #StrengthInUnity

Get your razors ready, #NoShaveNovember is almost over! 🪒 Our P&G Innovators at GilletteLabs created the Exfoliating Bar Razor to make sure your next shave is your smoothest. The exfoliating bar technology, built directly into the handle, combines the important act of pre-shaving exfoliation — a step most men skip — into the shaving experience. The bar sweeps naturally occurring debris like oil and dead skin cells before the blades pass, resulting in a smoother shave. Click the link in bio to learn more about #PGInnovation. #PGemployee

✨ Female Power at Kneipp ✨ From paper blend or grass paper to cork and glass – Isabel Hafner, Head of Packaging Development at Kneipp, is our expert. 💚 #FemaleLeadership: How do you become a leader? Sometimes by simply jumping in at the deep end. When the position of the team lead was to be filled last year, Isabel decided to take up the challenge and applied – you know the result of the story... 💚 Her daily mission? Developing new packaging as well as optimizing existing packaging solutions according to our sustainability strategy. If there is a new product, there is no way that Isabel was not involved. It’s her aim to think out of the box to challenge existing packaging and go beyond established solutions to make our packaging even smarter in the future. 💚 You've probably noticed it by now. Packaging is way more than only the outside of our products. This is why Isabel and her team are constantly testing and experimenting with new, innovative materials to find out what the ideal packaging of the future can look like while setting and defining new strategies for the company. 💚 Our lip care range is a great example for an innovative packaging concept that Isabel was involved in: The packaging is made of silphie paper while the cap is made of paper blend – a packaging that helps us to save natural resources. And this is what Isabel says herself: 𝘔𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵-𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯𝘦. 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘸, 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴. 𝐁𝐏 𝐃𝐄&𝐈 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 & 𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡 🍃 Imagine that a green leaf plant is a representation of a version of bp with no DE&I policy. A bp with no Code-of-Conduct, an absence of morals and practicing discriminatory behaviours. A bp that could perhaps be described as morally bankrupt. 🍂 Now imagine a plant with variegated leaves as a utopian version of bp with everyone treated as equals, fully included and able to express any opinion on any matter without fear of reprisal. A place that is safe to work for everyone without having to redesign their working environment to fit in. Somewhere that looked after staff throughout their employment and continued to value them after retirement. Leadership that ensured the company made a lifelong commitment to honour its promises. 🔰 To change the culture and take the green leaf plant and develop it into the variegated leaf plant will require an immense effort of steady cross-pollination over many years to produce a super hybrid plant. Imagine this as representing a team of dedicated people driving through a DE&I policy. 🔰 The route to success is a total commitment by all to back the team and live the policy, starting at the roots (Board & Leadership Team) and pulsing through every level until the results appear in the leaves (the shop floor). A commitment that is part of everyday business, each day, week after week, year on year, for ever. 🎨 The other option is to bring in the Odd Job Operative with a can of paint and a brush to paint some yellow stripes on the leaves. A really quick and cheap shortcut. People viewing from a distance will be fooled but under the paint the plant is withering away. Meanwhile, the dedicated team working on the cross-pollination continue their work in vein, are totally undermined and demotivated and are called on to sell the painted leaves to the public in corporate, self-congratulatory social media posts. I leave judgement on the bp of today and their current policy to you having spoken out repeatedly in recent times, however, I will ask one question regarding the current " 🌈 Rainbow Washed" logo… …The extra elements floating around the perimeter of the core Helios… is it me or do they look like painted leaves?🍂 #BPpension #DEandI Melody Meyer #JohannesTeyssen Karen Richardson Des Johnson

Flexibility, PETROSEAL secret weapon 🎯 #Flexibility breeds innovation, a crucial ingredient for PETROSEAL today. Allowing and encouraging our employees and partners from everywhere in our business to think about new ways of working, new products and new processes and designs encourage everyday our culture of innovation. Rather than operating the #traditional way of managers making all the decisions and coming up with all the ideas, getting everyone involved is likely to be more successful. Why? Because we think that, in online leak sealing, it’s the people on the ground who are more likely to spot the weak points and opportunities that will kick-start our innovation process. Be flexible and encourage employees and partners to investigate🕵🏼, innovate, and share their findings is now in our DNA. #leaksealing #corrosion #continuousimprovment #oneteam #partnership

Jeff Dereume, a consultant in CRU's Pittsburgh office, was in attendance for a recent lithium battery recycling workshop, hosted by NAATBatt International, the trade association for advanced battery technology in North America. The event was held at The Heritage Group in Indianapolis, IN. The workshop was a two-day event with day one focusing on important topics such as safety in handling black mass, measuring the value of black mass, and solutions for recycling LFP. While day 2 was dedicated to meeting the recyclers such as Blue Whale Materials LLC, Austin Elements Inc., and Cirba Solutions. Some of the key takeaways include 1) no two black masses are created equal, 2) safety must remain a leading priority, and 3) participants and associations should help develop standards and policies.
