Absolutely, the notion of viewing people with disabilities solely through the lens of being 'inspiring' can inadvertently perpetuate a patronizing narrative. Instead of placing the burden on individuals with disabilities to be a source of inspiration, our focus should shift towards dismantling ableist systems that create unnecessary barriers. This involves advocating for widespread accessibility, fostering inclusivity, and championing equal rights for all. By actively dismantling the societal structures that perpetuate discrimination, we can pave the way for a more equitable and supportive environment where individuals with disabilities can thrive on their terms.
Instead of viewing people with disabilities as 'inspiring,' we should be working to dismantle the ableist systems that create barriers for them. This includes advocating for accessibility, inclusivity, and equal rights. #WeAreBillionStrong #DisabilityInclusion #a11y #Ableism #DisabilityRights #Equity #HumanRights

It's crucial to recognize that any conversation about disability and inclusion must include the voices and perspectives of disabled individuals themselves. Excluding them from these discussions not only undermines the essence of inclusion but also perpetuates misconceptions and stereotypes. Their lived experiences provide invaluable insights into the challenges they face and the accommodations needed to foster genuine inclusivity. Let's ensure that our dialogues about disability prioritize representation and amplify the voices of those directly affected, paving the way for a more equitable and understanding society. #DisabilityInclusion #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs #RTXADAPT

Your workforces are filled with the working disabled!! Please include us in your conversations about DE&I!!! We are smart, we are well educated and experienced!! Our brains and bodies may not always cooperate, but if you are not creating a truly inclusive workforce culture that provides flexibility in hours , really provides worklife balance, really is invested in the health and mental wellness of your employees, well, no wonder why your talented employees are leaving!! We have an aging workfirce filled w all kinds of folks, veterans, retirees in their 60s and 70s that are bored at home, loved working and need that energy of being useful. But no one wants to give them a chance to use their experience to help an organization, they say overqalified, etc. Think about your organizational needs and how someone with advanced experience and degrees can be helpful, not a hindrance. The systems in place in this country regarding getting assistance when you can't work any more or not in the way you are exected to in the typical 9-5 are our downfalls! Can't work the way you used to because of disabilities, under 55 , have advanced degrees? Want to try for disability? I'm in this point now...fight a ridiculous system for years , get denied , try again maybe in 2 years.. but what do you do until then....work PT, flexible gigs when I feel well enough....so frustrating! If you have employees that identify as having a disability on the application and you are not accommodating their unique needs, you are not only violating our ADA rights to reasonable accommodation, labor relations etc, you are violating their human rights to be treated with dignity and respect!! Remember...if we work in HR...Human is something we all are. Let's try to remember that and treat our Human Captial like the golden tickets they are!!! #disabilityinclusion #disabilityawareness #disabilitysupport #diversityequityinclusion #workforcedevelopment #organizationalbehavior #transformationcoach #empoweringwomen #empowermentfacilitation #disrupthr #disruptiveleadership #creativeinstigation

For diversity and inclusion to actually include all, all must be represented and included; if not, then it's not real diversity and inclusion. #diversityandinclusion #diversityintheworkplace #diversitymatters #lgbtqia #disabilityawareness #disabilityinclusion #genderneutral #diversityequityinclusion #diversityequityinclusionbelonging

Brand & Marketing Manager | Brand Loyalist | Breathing Integrated Marketing, Creative Strategy and Optimization into spaces of chaos and void
Now that I understand I’m neurodivergent and I’ve started to think about how standard #corporateculture has not afforded the allowance; not asking for support, just the allowance to work, adapt and think differently. How many times has a #neurodivergent employee received poor assessments and performance feedback because they’ve been forced into a constricted culture box? How many times has a #neurodivergent employee been fired because they were forced to fit into an invisible or even corporate-approved box that is confined to only limiting notions of a disability? How many times has a #neurodivergent employee or candidate feared to check that box of needing minor unorthodox concessions in order to perform at a higher level? My personal concessions are breaks and sleep. If I listen to my body responses, I come back giving my teams and client 500% more. Being a business owner has done me so well! I’ve been performing higher and better because I’ve allowed myself and my clients those concessions that employers never cared to give space to provide - even after communicating them multiple times. #excel #concessions #space #flexibility #performance #corporateculture #awareness #reality

Empowering Abilities: The ADA's Enduring Legacy The Americans with Disabilities Act turned the tide, smashing barriers and unlocking opportunities. For over three decades, this civil rights milestone has paved the way for a more inclusive society, where abilities shine and dreams become reality. From workplaces to public spaces, the ADA's impact echoes far and wide, ensuring equal access and accommodations for individuals with disabilities. It's a testament to our shared belief that true progress leaves no one behind. How will you continue to advocate for inclusion and accessibility? Let's recommit to breaking down stereotypes and fostering a culture of understanding and respect. Because when we empower abilities, we uplift humanity itself. The ADA's legacy endures—a powerful reminder that inclusivity isn't just a goal; it's a fundamental right for all. #EqualOpportunity #AccessibilityForAll #DisabilityRights #Inclusion

🌟 **Embracing Equality: Treating Individuals with Disabilities with Dignity and Respect** 🌟 In our journey toward a more inclusive society, it's crucial to remember that everyone deserves to be treated with equality and respect, regardless of their abilities. Disability is a natural part of human diversity, and no one should be made to feel different or lesser because of it. ❌ **Stigmatization and discrimination** create barriers and lead to feelings of isolation. ✅ **Empathy and understanding** foster meaningful interactions and a sense of belonging. Let's challenge stereotypes, promote accessibility, and celebrate the achievements of people with disabilities. By doing so, we can build a world where everyone feels valued and respected. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society. 💙♿️✨ #Inclusion #Equality #DisabilityAwareness #RespectForAll #CelebrateDiversity

Kudos Puneet Singh Singhal for championing inclusivity in disability empowerment discussions! We have been passionate about dismantling the exclusionary norms that hinder the full participation of many like us. By sidelining or when our voices are not actively sought out, it perpetuates a harmful narrative that we are passive recipients of support rather than active agents of change and expertise in our own right. This lack of inclusion not only denies us the opportunity to contribute our unique perspectives but also reinforces societal misconceptions that undermine our capabilities and contributions. It's essential for us to be at the table, not just as token representatives, but as valued participants whose insights and lived experiences are integral to shaping policies, programs, and narratives that truly empower disabled individuals. Our voices aren't just valuable; they're essential for reshaping narratives and policies. Your advocacy fuels the drive for a truly inclusive society where every voice matters! #DisabilityEmpowerment #InclusionMatters #RepresentationMatters #DisabilityAdvocacy #DismantleAbleism #ChangingNarratives #WeAreBillionStrong
If people with disabilities aren't invited to the conversation on care, it's clear we're being discussed, not included. It shows that we are just an item on the agenda. Sure, go ahead and decide about us without us—we love surprises. (Yes, that's sarcasm.) #WeAreBillionStrong #AXSChat #DisabilityInclusion #DisabilityRights #Equity #SDGs #Accessibility
