June 27, 2024 is National PTSD Awareness Day While the DSM-V has all the listed criteria for a PTSD diagnosis, we all respond to trauma in our own ways. Please remember - Trauma does NOT automatically mean a PTSD diagnosis. Early intervention and being proactive in taking care of your mental health is crucial as a first responder. Trauma and PTSD are TREATABLE. You are NOT your trauma and you are NOT your diagnosis. Please don’t feel like you have to suffer alone.
