Role model cubiX in passenger cars: In cooperation with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, ZF has integrated Goodyear SightLine into the cubiX ecosystem. This provides further tire and road data into the vehicle motion control software.
The tire intelligence technology is capable of detecting aquaplaning situations at an early stage and recommends optimum speeds for better vehicle control. If an increased risk of aquaplaning is detected, cubiX reduces the velocity, supports the driver in his reaction and helps to stabilize the vehicle. cubiX®, ZF's pure software product, coordinates vehicle dynamics as a holistic system.
See in this video how the integration explores new safety features and enhanced driving dynamics.

cubiX Sightline is the integration of Goodyear's tire intelligence technology into our vehicle motion control software. Sightline provides tire and road data which cubiX uses to enable and improve driving experience with better comfort, control and efficiency. Goodyear Sightline is using sensors that are in the vehicle and also a sensor that is optional - put into the tire. Here it is mounted to the inner line of the tire. We generate data based on those sensors. The sensor measures temperature, pressure and the axis acceleration in the contact patch of the tire. And then we take this and put in a data fusion model where we use tire physics. We also use data fusion approaches in order to generate insights in real time. cubiX's reaction is enhanced by the additional tire information such as tire load or an Aquaplaning estimate. Internal vehicle models and actuator arbitration can now be calculated more precisely. New functions like an "Aquaplaning control" are also possible. When it comes to an Aquaplaning situation misconduct by unexperienced drivers may lead to a very strong and fast spin of the vehicle. Sightline detects the Aquaplaning situation and cubiX decelerates the vehicle. It supports the driver in his reaction. cubiX is designed to instruct the chassis actuators to apply corrective measures to stabilize the vehicle. Another synergy effect that comes with cubiX Sightline is the interaction between the adaptive tire model ATM and cubiX variable driving characteristics - in short: VDC. Tire characteristics change over a tire's lifetime and between different wheel sets. By using the pre-calibrated ATM, VDC tire parameters automatically adapt to the driven wheels. This allows the definition of a vehicle dynamic DNA independent of different wheel sets. This reduces the application
effort by far. The tire plays a crucial role when it comes to vehicle dynamics and the transmission of forces between the vehicle and the road. By digitizing this connection and equipping chassis actuators with critical insights, cubiX Sightline can help to optimize vehicle performance and safety. The collaboration between Goodyear Sideline and ZF cubiX enables a variety of new features that were unthinkable before. We have improved "zero response", we can reduce the controller workload for example. And the base of this collaboration is that we are able to pre-integrate those features into a vehicle architecture. We take the information from the tire, bring it to the vehicle and this is just the beginning. So we are working on several features that will come out in the foreseeable future.

Great idea to integrate tier system into overall chassis control, by leveraging the magic of SOFTWARE as a product. You have more chances in China to practise.
