Angus Measurement Services, LP Special Service Group 🌅Share Kindness! Its Friday November 10, 2023 here in the old Permian Basin, on the southwest edge of the Llano Estacado, on the south side of the Frankle City Highway in beautiful Gaines County, Texas. What a week. We did get some dampness, I don't want to go so far as to call it rain but it did wet down the dust a little. And there is a chance for more dampness. Maybe if we string it all together, we can call it a rain? I am starting to think the El Niño maybe will not live up was predicted. We will take what comes and be grateful. This has been one tough week. It is really tough when Unicorn's cry. All you can do is just be there. It's been hard to get my thoughts together and just sit down and write something that is relevant to what I have been doing. Please bear with me. I watched the sun come up this morning. Not a typical color blast we typically see here on the Llano Estacado but a lighting of the grey. Occasionally the sun peeking through the grey and gloom. That is what is forecast for the rest of the day and in to tomorrow. But eventually, the sun WILL shine. The grey and gloom will be gone, and even in that grey and gloom there is the hope for rain, because....we need rain. It don't rain out of a sunny sky! Except when the devel and his wife are having a physical altercation. We won't go into that because one can be censured on LinkedIn for using the wrong noun. Adjectives too. I work every day to find someone I can make their life just a little bit better. I came across something today, or one of my penuchle playing guardian angels sent me, written by Jordan Sarah Weatherhead. I hope you enjoy it "People wonder why I give so many compliments out to strangers. I’m not being fake and I’m not looking for people to like me. But if I pass someone and I like something, I say it. ‘Love those shoes!’ or ‘Great hair!’ or ‘Wow your eyes are beautiful!’…. why? Because life is hard and this world can be a chitty place, and people are mean." "You never know how much those few words mean to someone; you never know what hell they may be going through; and when you put positivity out there into the universe you yourself become a happier person. It’s hard to be nice and be miserable yourself. It’ll reflect from the outside in. I’m telling you random compliment giving will change your life; and maybe someone else’s too." Be kind this weekend and help someone. In helping somebody Angus Measurement Services, LP is looking for a field tech. PLC Troubleshooting: A Step-by-Step Guide As a PLC engineer, I have encountered my fair share of issues on the plant floor. But with a systematic approach to troubleshooting, you can quickly identify and resolve problems, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Step 1: Review the Program Logic - Check the PLC program for any changes or modifications - Verify that the program is correctly configured for the specific machine or process - Review the logic for any potential errors or conflicts Step 2: Check Input/Output Values - Verify that all inputs are correctly wired and configured - Check output values to ensure they match the expected results - Use tools like a multimeter or oscilloscope to troubleshoot analog signals Step 3: Use Diagnostic Tools - Utilize built-in PLC diagnostic tools, such as error logs or debugging modes - Use external tools like PLC simulators or programming software to test and troubleshoot the program - Analyze data logs to identify trends or patterns Step 4: Consult Documentation - Review the PLC manual and programming documentation - Check the manufacturer's website for updates, patches, or technical notes - Consult with colleagues or online forums for additional insights Step 5: Isolate the Issue - Use a process of elimination to narrow down the potential causes - Test individual components or sections of the program to isolate the problem - Collaborate with other teams or experts to get additional perspectives By following these steps, you'll be able to methodically troubleshoot PLC issues and get your plant floor up and running smoothly. What makes a top-tier Control and PLC Engineer? 🤔 As someone who's new to recruitment but deeply passionate about the manufacturing and engineering sectors, I've been diving into what sets apart the best Control and PLC Engineers. Here's what I've found: ✅ **Technical Expertise**: A solid understanding of PLC programming languages like Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram is essential. Engineers should also be proficient in SCADA systems and HMI development. According to a recent survey by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, 85% of UK companies consider these skills crucial for automation roles. ✅ **Problem-Solving Skills**: The ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly is vital. Engineers often face unexpected challenges, and their problem-solving skills can significantly impact production efficiency. Real-world experience in diagnosing and fixing complex control systems is a big plus. ✅ **Industry Experience**: Experience in specific industries, such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, or food and beverage, can be incredibly valuable. Each sector has its unique challenges and requirements, so familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations is a huge advantage. For businesses looking to hire, these skills and qualifications can make a significant difference in finding the right candidate.
