Hello everyone, It is some experience at my first internship at BRJ ortho centre and MAK Hospital. An ECG (electrocardiogram) machine is a medical device used to record the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time. It detects and records the electrical signals generated by the heart each time it beats, providing valuable information about heart rhythm and function. ECG machines are commonly used in hospitals, clinics, and doctor's offices to diagnose various heart conditions, such as arrhythmias, heart attacks, and abnormalities in the heart's structure. They typically consist of electrodes, leads, an amplifier, and a display screen to visualize the recorded data. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking

The interns are diving deep into the world of catheters, guidewires, balloon catheters, and microcatheters! They got to understand the challenges involved in manipulating and placing these tiny wonders accurately. It's amazing how these medical devices play a crucial role in procedures like coronary catheterization! We love seeing the interns get a taste of the precision and skill required in the cath lab. #CathLab #CoronaryCatheter #ClinicalTraining #2024SalesInternship #MedicalDeviceSales #SalesTraining

This project aims to leverage advanced computer vision techniques to enhance the monitoring and management of critical hospital equipment, specifically hospital beds and cardiac monitors. By employing the YOLOv8 (You Only Look Once, version 8) object detection model, we have developed a robust system capable of accurately detecting and identifying these essential medical devices within a healthcare setting #aimers #aimers society #internship #pscmr #yolov8 #object detection #sai satish

Senior Physiotherapist at Physioqinesis, Former Sports Physiotherapist at Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy - India
What do #clients want the most-Here's what they don't teach you at #Physiotherapy colleges! Patient values. Recently I came across this amazing article that interviewed clients on what they thought were key values required from a physiotherapist treating them.(I have shared the link in the comments) The researchers then divided the patient values under three domains and the domains and values that emerged were- Domain 1-How Physios think about a patient ⭐ #Uniqueness-Physios treat their client as unique individuals ⭐ #Autonomy -Physios listen to clients allowing them to have a say in their treatment and treat them towards independence Domain 2-How Physios #communicate with a patient ⭐ #Partnership-Involve the client, co-operate but eventually take lead in making decisions because of expertise ⭐ #Empowerment-Empower and support clients in all their endeavours Domain 3-How Physios behave around a patient ⭐ Technically skilled- Physios are #skilled, communicate well, are goal and process oriented and #positive ⭐ #Conscientious-Physios act morally in clinical decision making and financially don't exploit clients ⭐ #Compassionate-Physios are concerned and take patients seriously ⭐ #Responsive-Physios adapt to patients, respect clients boundaries, make them feel #safe, are #culturallysensitive and aware of patients #vulnerability It's been ages where I have read an article which asked patients how they feel about their doctor rather than how they felt due to their condition! This is an aspect that needs to be taught during internship if not right from the first year of physiotherapy education! Have you read any #article similar to this one? Do share in the comments. P.S-Thats me delivering a talk during my work tenure at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital

I am ecstatic to be able to say that I completed my internship at Centro Medico del Dolore in Lugano, working under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Lacina, which I would like to thank for this incredible opportunity. Dr. Lacina’s philosophy is that inflammation is what prevents the human body’s natural ability to heal itself. Therefore, my time here focused on interventional radiology and minimally invasive therapy, where cortisone crystals are used to treat the troubled areas. By using radiology, the crystals are injected directly into the facets of the spine, especially where they are enlarged, non-triangular with a beak, and with spillage, as these indicate inflammation. This method, though not very common, should be more widely used as it provides instant positive feedback directly from patients, often allowing them to avoid complex surgeries. Additionally, we focused on infiltrations anywhere around the body, as it acts on the same principles. Dr. Lacina's dedication extends beyond his clinical work. As the founder of the Swiss Institute for Second Opinion in Medicine, he reassesses surgical indications and billing with an external lawyer, ensuring patients receive the most appropriate and transparent care. Witnessing this commitment firsthand has been truly inspiring. Now, I see my future not just as a career in helping those in need, but as a mission to ensure people are genuinely and thoroughly cared for. #InterventionalRadiology #MinimallyInvasiveTherapy #MedicalInnovation #InflammationTreatment #CortisoneTherapy #SpinalHealth #MedicalInternship #CentroMedicoDelDolore #SwissMedicine #FutureOfMedicine #DrThomasLacina #PatientAdvocacy #MedicalTransparency #HealthcareMission

Sunday marked World Physiotherapy Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the vital role of physiotherapists in promoting health and well-being. For us, it provided an opportunity to engage in a conversation with Luca Colombo, the coordinator of physiotherapists at the Villa Beretta Rehabilitation Research Innovation Institute. We discussed how this profession has evolved in response to significant technological advancements innovation in Rehabilitation Medicine. Here’s what we learned. ✔ The physiotherapist must ‘chew’ a bit of technology. The initial setup of devices is always the responsibility of bioengineers, based on the physician’s prescriptions. However, the ongoing use of this equipment should encourage the physiotherapist to deepen their understanding of the technology, to the extent that they can independently modify some parameters. For instance, when utilizing electrostimulation, the physiotherapist should be capable of adjusting the position of the electrodes or the intensity of the current, tailoring these settings to the patient’s rehabilitation journey. ✔ Never forget that patient feedback is essential. If a relationship of trust is not established between the patient and the technology, it is unlikely to yield the desired results. It is the physiotherapist’s responsibility to determine wether the patient has confidence in the device, and thus, attentive listening and observation remain fundamental. ✔ Where can one acquire all this knowledge? Unfortunately, it is not typically taught at universities and often not even during internships at various healthcare facilities. Currently, the only opportunity for a physiotherapist to develop technological expertise is within a neurorehabilitation center that emphasizes a high rate of technological innovation. #WorldPhysiotherapyDay #Neurorehabilitation #PhysicalTherapy #Rehabilitation
