According to the Wedding Reports website, the average cost of a wedding in Buffalo, NY ranges from $35,000 to $58,000 dependent upon your guest count, venue, vendor, and personal choices/touches. A general rule is that 8-20% of your budget be allocated to the cost of your bar: -Want a full open bar? Set your budget between 15-20%. -Beer and wine only? Set your budget between 8-10% Ways to save: -Limit the length of your open bar. -Limit options available at the bar. -Check if your venue allows you to bring your own alcohol.

We have a new beer coming, and it is one we never anticipated making. About a year ago, our friends at the Sheraton Hotel challenged us to make a beer using honey from their culinary garden on the rooftop of the Sheraton downtown. The sales team and I got very excited. The brewers, not so much. Honey in a beer… Isn't someone else in DFW doing that already? And it's their flagship beer, right? Yes, which is why we knew we couldn't also use citrus. That made the challenge even harder because the flavors pair perfectly together! After a year of playing with variations and sometimes avoiding the project altogether, we created a beautiful honey lager that our brewers love just as much as the sales team. You can taste the honey, but it's not over the top or too sweet. And no fake adjuncts. It's truth to materials with the honey exactly as it should be. Now, it needs a name! We've been brainstorming, and we need help. Do you love any of these names or have ideas? Buzz Brigade Bee-52 (I can't believe how much I love this one) Buzz Bomber Sweet Victory (might be a trademark violation) Honeycore Golden Cargo It will be on tap on Tuesday. It's not ready for distribution yet. We need a name first so then we can label it!

Another glorious summer day, another day with our beloved village local closed. Although I do get a sense that there might be something in the offing. We'll see. Watch this space. In the meantime, I'm adding a beer and venue guide to Beer Today. Not to replace any other guide, just as a standalone guide to which venues (pubs, bars, taprooms) are consistently great, and which beers (which must be available all the time or make regular appearances) are really unmissable. Let me know by emailing darren.norbury@gmail.com or via DM. Your suggestion(s) must include a reason behind the nomination, and all will be checked out thoroughly, of course, before being added to the guide. Go! #beer #pubs #cider #bars #taprooms #recommendations

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬? Imagine you’re an award-winning bartender, renowned for crafting cocktails that people travel across the globe to experience. These cocktails are more than just a mix of spirits, bitters, and garnishes—they hold a special ingredient that sets them apart: 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐬. This is what makes each cocktail unforgettable, award-worthy, and exceptional. But here’s the thing. None of this magic would be possible without one essential element: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫. Without it, all that expertise, that brilliance, would spill away before it could be enjoyed. The container—the glass that presents your creation—is as important as every ingredient that goes into it. So, think about it. How are you sharing your genius? Are you showcasing it in the right container, or is it hidden away in something unremarkable, something that doesn’t do justice to your talent? It’s not just about having the talent; it’s about presenting it in a way that lets it shine. Each of us has the potential to be that award-winning bartender of our own lives. We each have the genius within us to create something memorable, something special. But unless we find the right container—a space, a platform, a way to let our talents and ideas be seen—our potential may never reach the people it’s meant to inspire. So, ask yourself: Is your genius served up in a humble mixer, or have you found the perfect glass for it to sparkle in? #SuperGenius #FindYourContainer #UnlockYourPotential #sebbusz
