Call for data! Where can I find data on all community meals in large metro areas? (Especially Boston and Bay Area) A while ago, a friend and I started Freefare (findfreefare.com) for two reasons: 1. To make sure everyone has access to free food, where it's available 2. To reduce foodwaste by making it easier for businesses to find local nonprofits to donate leftover food to I'm happy to say that Freefare V1 is done, and we can help businesses get enhanced tax deductions via finding local nonprofits. (20+ users to date) However, I still see an insane amount people lined up outside of pantries and food banks. As a result, we're looking for more data on nonprofits that donate food to the public. If there's free food nearby, you should NOT be hungry. Nobody should be hungry next to a bag of perfectly good leftover food. Phyllis Meyerson and I have written a book, Check21 – A Blockbuster Story. It is about our experiences and remembrances of the passage and implementation of Check 21. We think you will enjoy reading it. We are not charging for the book but we are asking everyone to make a donation to a charity and in an amount of your choice. Information about your selection will be requested prior to downloading the book.   Traditional publishers charge for downloads so we are making it available from my website, www.tillerendeavors.com. The book is available in two formats, PDF and ePUB . When you go to the website, start by selecting the middle box on the home page that says Check 21 – A Blockbuster Story and follow the instructions from there. We suggest the best digital reading option uses the ePUB format. The PDF works but may not include some of the functions of a real eReader, such as accessing the many links included in the book.   You will notice we have included some supplemental instructions if you should need some additional assistance.   Let us know what you think about the book.

There are four primary barriers to fundamental and noble societal change: lack of education, will, fear, and politics. These are the greatest enemies of genuine progress. My wife and I relied on assistance early in our lives, and we were able to climb out and up! Americans need better options and a hand up vs a hand out, and I want to end the perpetual cycle of me and my colleagues being asked to donate thousands every year, only to face the same need again the next year. Non-profits need a self-sustaining business model; otherwise, they will continuously struggle to secure the necessary donations and funds to make impacts. They need actual data on those receiving benefits to ensure they are really helping vs over serving the same systemic populations without a plan and strategy. It isn’t working folks - Feeding America is rapidly running out of funds and food banks and hunger relief orgs are scrambling on their own to serve their communities. Some have means through large donors and some don’t, they all need assistance and we have the answer. There is so much change needed and I hope you will join us to become part of the solution!

They are a non profit organization at Dulles Town Center in Northern Virginia (USA). You can donate money, groceries or volunteer to cook, deliver food etc. I was super energized to see a group of women come & deliver huge shopping carts of groceries. They said they cook twice a month, deliver & personally serve food at homeless shelter. Super inspiring! - While volunteering, another person told me about this cool app called Too Good to Go. Dear LinkedIn Friends, This message is for nonprofit leaders and fundraisers. As we step into the New Year, it is the best time to reach out to our donors and supporters through direct messages … either in the shape of a WhatsApp New Year card, or greeting on SMS, or even a personalized email would do wonders. The irony is that not many nonprofits acknowledge the usefulness of a strategically designed New Year message. In my experience they are extremely effective in developing or strengthening a bond between a person and a cause, right away from the beginning. So, I would suggest grasping this moment, and crisply sharing your organization's vision, logo, and any specific themes through New Year messages. The good thing is that there is no shortage of ideas for how should your New Year message look like. Ask your design and fundraising team to craft a unique and heartfelt New Year card tailored to your nonprofit's mission. You can do many things with a New Year's card. For example, by sending New Year cards, you can express your gratitude by thanking supporters, volunteers, and donors for their incredible contributions. You can also highlight achievements by showcasing your nonprofit's milestones and impact over the past year. This would boost your organization’s image and enhance performance trust. Lastly, you can spread positivity among your audiences and inspire hope for the upcoming year. That would be a great, yet subtle contribution to society, in these times of despair. I know that your organization is among those thousands more, that are working tirelessly for the betterment of society. So let's start the New Year on a positive note together!
