Would you prefer hard working colleagues or lazy ones? I think most of us would say "hard working" Makes sense. I'd have 100% agreed with you, until I met Pierre (not his real name, but anyone who worked with me at the time will know who I mean). Pierre was the laziest tech I have ever met. He was hired from Romania via video interview. This was BC (Before COVID) so this was somewhat unusual. He had great skills and experience, just what we need for the Tech Ops team. He showed up looking a little more... err... characterful than he'd done in the interview. No matter, we got him up to speed and gave him stuff to do. A few days later he asks if he can automate a part of the daily tasks. Sure, why not It's done two days later. His goal in life was to do everything with as little effort as possible - basically kind of lazy. He was also a genius at scripting stuff. That company went bust, but all of us who worked with him would happily work with him again. The laziest (and quirkiest) tech person any of us have ever known.
