In what is likely an effort to take the spotlight away from CES, #apple has announced (https://lnkd.in/ddB-CT63) that pre-orders for the #visionpro will begin on Friday, January 19th, and that the device will be available in the U.S. on February 2nd. Apple is calling it the era of 'spatial computing.' Now, we'll see if the rest of the world agrees. As I mentioned many months ago (https://lnkd.in/ewQ2hWvM), developers are reconsidering their applications from an entirely new perspective after engaging with the Apple Vision Pro. And according to Apple, there's an all-new App Store where users can find apps that deliver spatial computing experiences. And the rest of the apps are likely to be compatible with the device, too. This could be a game-changer. The inputs being controlled by a user's eyes, hands, and voice will redefine how we interact with technology. Of course, other companies are working on similar offerings with lower price points, but having over a million apps working with it out of the box is a differentiator. What should we expect at this year's keynote? WWDC is usually a software-focused event, so we may hear some details about the work Apple has been doing around AI over the last year. Other reports indicate that Apple will show a set of upcoming updates, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11, according to Keynote USA. The company is also likely to reveal the next operating system for the recently launched Apple Vision Pro headphones, visionOS 2.
