Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA)’s Post

U.S. traffic fatalities fell 3.2% in the first half of 2024, marking nine consecutive quarters of declines, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA data released today. That progress is welcome, but we still have a long way to go to reach the goal of zero traffic deaths. Starting this weekend, national roadway safety, business, government, law enforcement, tech, public health and nonprofit leaders will come together for the GHSA 2024 Annual Meeting in Indianapolis to work together to build on this recent safety momentum and better protect everyone on the road.
