Generative AI is transforming the way we live and work, but it can also create error-filled communications and even spread harmful misinformation. Governments need to be vigilant about how they use AI and invest in strategies that mitigate misuse by bad actors to protect their communities. The good news? Cities have several tools at their disposal, from public education and awareness campaigns to hiring AI experts to support policy and procurement processes, that can ensure AI is used safely and responsibly in the public sector. Artificial intelligence (AI) bias is where AI systems inadvertently reflect prejudices from their training data or design. Why should you care? Because AI is already creeping into our lives, from healthcare to financial services, and the world is still grappling with how we regulate its impact. Biased data can have disastrous consequences. I explore a few real-life examples of why tackling machine bias is already becoming headline news. #artificialintelligence #technology #future https://lnkd.in/ePW8d34V

✍️Playing Chor Sipahi that is ur Gen AI : read on .. : '.. be difficult to spot AI-generated images, video, audio and text at a time when technological advances are making them increasingly indistinguishable from much human-created content, leaving us open to manipulation by disinformation. But by knowing the current state of the AI technologies used to create misinformation, and the range of telltale signs that what you are looking at might be fake, you can help protect yourself from being taken in. World leaders are concerned. According to a report by the World Economic Forum, misinformation and disinformation may “radically disrupt electoral processes in several economies over the next two years”, while easier access to AI tools “have already enabled an explosion in falsified information and so-called ‘synthetic’ content, from sophisticated voice cloning to counterfeit websites”. ...' - Extract #newscientist #genai #fakes #deepfakes #synthetic #skdscans

A very insightful article on the risks of extremely powerful open source AI models that are released without any safety net. Since most people will access such models through 3rd party services, the high sophistication of these models makes it difficult for them to differentiate between beneficial AI and harmful AI. There is also a possibility of an AI black market where such powerful models trained on sensitive data are released via open source mechanism that spill out damaging information. All one would need is a set of specific prompts. Thanks Devdatt Dubhashi for sharing!! #genai #artificialintelligence #airisks #responsibleai #deepfake #aiagents #aiforgood #airegulation

Intelligence agencies are cautiously incorporating generative AI, a type of artificial intelligence that can create new data, into their operations. While recognizing the potential benefits like analyzing vast amounts of data or creating realistic simulations, they are wary of its limitations. These models can be biased or prone to errors, and the agencies emphasize that AI won't replace human analysts who can provide crucial context and judgment. Overall, the embrace of generative AI is happening carefully, with a focus on its potential to support, not supplant, human intelligence gathering. After taking the online public data for training purposes, GenAI is coming after your workplace data, And it's ok. ''It’s also just the latest chapter in the ongoing story of human technological advancement. AI should be based on human discovery and knowledge and crafted with human-centric attributes of privacy and quality in mind. In the dance of co-creation with AI, humans must always take the lead.''
