This is a good starter on cyber-physical resilience. The Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology published a report in February 2024 that highlights some of the concerns we saw with the CrowdStrike incident. Several physical systems and processes were impacted by the digital disruption. Some key highlights: 1. Resilience entails the ability of systems to anticipate, withstand, recover from, and adapt to cyberattacks and natural or accidental disruptions 2. Define Minimum Viable Operating Capabilities and Minimum Viable Delivery Objectives 3. Promote supply chain focus and resilience by design (this is very important) 4. Limit the blast radius 5. Bounded failure by minimizing the impact of a single point 6. Marrying of cybersecurity, resilience, reliability, and recoverability in information systems https://lnkd.in/gkNuiJfw

Have you read the PCAST Report to the President on Cyber-Physical Security? This report has a lot of great content for on-ramping a cyber-physical resilience program. These valuable recommendations can be used and put in place by critical infrastructure, nterprise, SLED, and SMBs.

📜 New Article Published 📜 We are thrilled to announce the publication of our latest paper, "Enhancing Cyber-Physical Security: Integrating Virtual Fences Within Digital Twins," co-authored by Antonella Longo and Antonio Ficarella. Published in IEEE Xplore and presented at the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Cyber Security and Resilience (CSR), the paper delves into leveraging digital twins with virtual fences to boost the security of cyber-physical systems, particularly for real-time monitoring and infrastructure control. 🔗 DOI: 10.1109/CSR61664.2024.10679413 The project is proudly supported by HSPI Consulenti di Direzione. It is a rare privilege to be part of a group where research receives such strong support from the company's leadership (Emanuele Cetrangolo, and Sebastiano Manno). Their dedication has played a crucial role in driving innovation and advancing the development of digital technologies within the organization. The next step focuses on developing a versatile platform for Digital Twinning across multiple application domains. Additionally, related to this particular case study of early warning zone (EWZ), key aim is to transform the concept of EWZ creation -which is introduced in currently publised article- into "practice" by utilizing virtual fencing, multi-UAV systems, and computer vision technologies. This will be particularly beneficial for civil services and smart cities, enhancing safety, efficiency, and real-time response.

Sharing this article from MeriTalk.... According to the new "Tech Tonic: FY25 Federal CIO Forecast", cybersecurity, workforce transformation, and AI rank as top technology priorities for Federal CIOs. A survey of the "Digital Dozen" – 12 CIOs from CFO Act agencies – revealed that 67% of CIOs see cybersecurity and risk management as their highest priority. Their goals include identity and risk management, zero trust architectures, infrastructure modernization, and automation. Supporting these priorities is the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) 8140 mandate, which emphasizes workforce skills standardization and professional development in cybersecurity. Pluralsight is uniquely positioned to help federal agencies meet these objectives through its tailored learning platform, which supports 8140 compliance by offering role-based, on-demand training mapped to the DCWF. Pluralsight helps close cybersecurity skills gaps by providing continuous learning pathways that align with the 8140 mandate, allowing federal IT teams to upskill and reskill effectively.
