Hind Ottmani, MSc attended Proximo Infra Nashville 2024 Financing America’s Infrastructure. Read some of her insights from the conference below: Infrastructure funds are still focused on long-term megatrends that can withstand short-term volatility, such as decarbonization, sustainable mobility and digitalization. The decarbonization agenda puts ESG requirements in the forefront, providing increasing benefits to sponsors such as permits streamlining, compliance with ever so stringent reporting requirements, and driving long-term value creation. As forerunners of digital infrastructure investment, data centers are withstanding both inflation and interest rates turbulence due to sheer underlying demand. Keeping up with such demand will require ramping up equipment production and ensuring supply chain resiliency. It will also require unprecedented energy supply which in turn offers a wide array of opportunities in renewables, should regulatory changes keep up with the pace. Despite the promising outlook on the industry, adaptation, resiliency and innovation remain critical to keep up with the challenges of an increasingly competitive market. It is time again for the weekly #ClimateTechQuartet - #13. This time, very focused on #grid improvement and #startups that help #utilities deliver energy to citizens. The following 4 early-stage companies are special because they focus on grid resilience and reliability, the network that supplies us with electricity every day. As we all transition to electric/electrification, the secure and efficient transmission of electricity becomes increasingly important. It's fantastic that founders are thinking about how to improve this area. Rhizome https://lnkd.in/gSXNjJNr HQ: California Founder: Mishal Thadani and Rahul Dubey Rhizome assists electric utilities in preventing climate-induced power grid failures. Their AI-powered platform identifies vulnerabilities from climate hazards, quantifies risk at high resolutions, and measures the benefits of grid-enhancing investments to protect infrastructure, communities, and businesses from intensifying extreme weather threats. The future's looking electric! 🌍🔌 The Biden-Harris administration has announced a groundbreaking $1.3 billion funding initiative to turbocharge the expansion of the U.S. electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This marks a colossal leap forward in making EV charging accessible in urban, rural, and key transportation corridors. 🛣️💡 Thrillingly, this is the biggest single grant funding opportunity ever for EV charging, courtesy of the bipartisan infrastructure law. Following the first round, where 47 projects across 22 states and Puerto Rico were supported, this new wave of funding promises even more range and reach. 🚗✨ The noteworthy increase in the maximum distance for charging stations from one mile to five miles means that more communities will connect and benefit, boosting EV adoption and the nation's drive towards green mobility. This push aligns beautifully with President Biden's ambition to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and establish a robust network of half a million public EV charging stations. A greener grid, a surge in EV uptake, and the U.S. edging closer to becoming a global leader in this thrilling race towards a sustainable future. 🌱🏁 So, how will this revolutionise your commute and support our planet? Get involved, share your views, and let's drive the change together! ⚡🌟 #EVCharging #SustainableFuture #GreenInnovation
