Clinicians and public health partners: CDC analyzed data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, in which participating adults self-report whether they had ever tested positive for COVID-19 and ever experienced Long COVID. The percentage of U.S. adults in 2022 who reported ever experiencing Long COVID varied by U.S. state and territory, from 2% in the U.S. Virgin Islands to 11% in West Virginia. The percentage tended to be lower in New England and the Pacific, and higher in the South, Midwest, and West. Clinicians and public health professionals should consider these data to inform health care and public health policy, strategy, and action to reduce the impact of Long COVID. It was great to attend the The Times #HealthSummit today to see the launch of the Commission's report and to hear from an impressive array of speakers. The report sets out 10 key recommendations to transform health and care, from harnessing the power of #roboticassistedsurgery and HIT lists to improve patient care and increase NHS productivity, through to the expansion of public health interventions to tackle the unsustainable rise in the numbers of people living with obesity. As ever, the proof will be in delivery and its now up to political, NHS and local leaders to implement the report's recommendations. https://lnkd.in/dkdXGHp5
