2024 : A major step ahead for #OGSTechnologies with the start of operations of its first industrial Optical Ground Station, the French OGS (FrOGS) delivered to CNES and with the highly successful bidirectional optical links from FrOGS to Airbus optical terminal TELEO on the GEO satellite BADR-8. The reliability and robustness of the realized optical links is very promising for future commercial services based on this emerging technology and place today #OGSTechnologies as a leader in the deployment Optical Ground Stations. The FrOGS demonstrator was designed by #OGSTechnologies as a versatile station for CNES to carry on potentially multiple missions (LEO Direct-To-Earth, bidirectional GEO Feeder, Satellite Laser Ranging, QKD,…). From May to October 2024, FrOGS demonstrated long duration and reliable optical links to and from Airbus optical terminal TELEO. Telecom links have been active for about 60 hours over 22 days at very high data rates (up to 9 Gbps) thanks in particular to the robust adaptive optics solution incorporated in FrOGS.
