Lieutenant-Colonel Peter Germonpre (MD) presented during the1st MMRD the decompression research performed in the Military Hospital Queen Astrid (Brussels) He highlighted more specifically the current GEMINIDS project (2021-2026) which addresses limitations in current decompression sickness (DCS) models for military high-altitude and diving operations. It aims to improve understanding of inert gas exchange through three key goals: developing a portable N₂ measurement system, characterizing gas exchange under varied conditions, and optimizing biophysical decompression models.
