Are you assessing your patient's ribcage? If not, you should be! You can learn tons of valuable information, such as breathing strategies, mobility restrictions, and what movements they're biased toward. The more you assess, the more you'll notice asymmetries and rib flares. So, here's a quick video to learn the "why," "how," and the solution to rib flares! https://lnkd.in/ekBaKqHV

The ability of patients to have the necessary space + ideal force-producing capabilities directly correlates to their current injury or future injury risk. If either component is restricted, then it's up to other structures to find and produce power—AKA, a compensatory injury is coming! Unfortunately, checking and improving these two measures during a typical treatment is rarely a priority. So, I'm writing this to 1) remind you of how important these concepts are and 2) share my own strategy that I use with my patients. If you're interested in learning this framework, I'll leave the link to the video below where you can learn how to: - Comprehend how the body produces power - Identify power limitations through your assessment - Implement a slant board to increase your patient's force development https://lnkd.in/e9PXABeH
