Here's a few key ways a lot of people can improve on flow trails. Pumping with a full range of movement This means when you're low on the bike, you're as low as you can get (arms & legs bent). When you are tall your legs will be straight, ankles dropped. Absorb features to smooth out the trail If you don't feel confident carrying speed on these trails, you need to use your brakes gently over a longer distance to control speed. Take as wide/long lines as you comfortably can. Focus on absorbing features by using a 'pumping' movement. This maintains a more constant pressure on the tyres, improving control. Learn to jump slowly Many riders get stuck into squashing jumps, because they are always riding fast. This will limit the size & difficulty of the features you're able to jump. If you want to progress your jumping, make sure you are practising jumps, you can already clear, at low speed. Learn to extend your arms & legs on the take off to give you maximum lift. People also tend ride too far back on the bike. (In all MTB skills).
