Grace Lam’s Post

In a recent interview with ABC News, I discussed the widespread shortage of HRT / MRT (Hormone / Menopause Replacement Therapy) treatments in Australia. I want to express my gratitude to journalist Alison Branley for shedding light on this persistent issue. The absence of HRT treatments leaves many menopausal women grappling with debilitating symptoms such as insomnia, fatigue, brain fog, hot flushes, gut problems, joint pain, palpitations and more. It would be beneficial if the Australian government could increase subsidies for all hormone-related medications. Currently, the level of subsidies is significantly lower than that in the UK, where it costs only 20 pounds per year compared to $80 per month in Australia. Additionally, a thorough revision of the PBS listing is necessary to eliminate unsafe and outdated brands, making way for safer and more effective HRT options such as Prometrium (Progesterone). Furthermore, there is a pressing need for the introduction of an Australian-made Estradot brand, given the substantial demand for this product. Imagine the positive impact on women's health and well-being if we could produce our own high-quality version which will be beneficial to all menopausal women and the Australia economy too. https://lnkd.in/e_2A8Zbp Instagram: @gracelamStyle My portrait by Jason CAPOBIANCO
