We are in full swing of event season, and the marketing sequences are rolling out, but what's missing? Ever been frustrated by the lack of ROI from a client or partner-facing event? I certainly was until I realized there was one crucial step I was overlooking. While it has been a few years, my event prep was typically on point. I scheduled meetings, knew exactly who I wanted to connect with, understood what leadership defined as ROI, and even collaborated with marketing to ensure new contacts were added to a post-event marketing sequence. But there was one thing I wasn’t doing. I wasn’t picking up the phone. I was missing that personal follow-up call, the direct connection that could solidify the relationships I worked so hard to initiate at the event. It turns out, the follow-up phone call was the missing piece in turning those event connections into tangible ROI. Have you experienced something similar?
