Since 2022, Europe has made significant progress in ensuring 𝐠𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 through proactive measures by the EU and Member States to reduce dependence on Russian gas and address 𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬. The focus now shifts to building a resilient energy system by integrating renewable and low-carbon gases, enhancing sector coupling, and improving interconnections between energy networks. This workshop aligns with the European Commission's recent consultation on the 𝐄𝐔 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 and anticipates the revision of the 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. We here in Norway ramped up our fossil gas supply in the name of "Energy Security" in Europe, and now Europe's energy security is suffering due to supply chain failures thanks to its reliance on fossil gas. The blatant lesson here is: we should be switching away from fossil fuels entirely, not simply switching between providers based on how much warmongering each petrostate is doing. https://lnkd.in/gW6SbB86

🗣💭 The post-mediation dialogue initiated by the Energy Community continues with the aim of presenting the roadmap for the development of "green" energy in Ukraine. ⚡️ At today's meeting, Artur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, along with the head of the Kyiv office, Oleksii Orzhel, focused on issues related to the development of the renewable energy sector. 👤 Representatives of renewable energy companies expressed their willingness to invest in new projects if the debts for the electricity supplied are settled. Within 6+ months, the existing capacities can be increased.⚡️ The construction of generation from renewable sources will provide opportunities for a relatively quick resolution of some of the existing problems in the energy sector. 💡An interesting point: our meeting coincided with another power outage, which further convinced the participants of the need to accelerate the development of decentralized generation.
