Birthdays are a reminder of the fulfillment of the reason you were born. 2. While celebrating the years you've spent on earth, remember that you're also getting closer to the end of your journey. How will you make the most of your remaining time? 3. Life is short. It's easy to overlook the brevity of life, but it's something we must acknowledge. 4. Become extremely valuable, and people will go out of their way to find you. 5. Your value and contribution directly determine your reward and influence. 6. Master your relationships with God, people, and material things. Rise above competitive jealousy in your relationships. 7. Never cheapen your words. Always speak with intention and integrity. A bonus tip from me: Manage your access. Value your time and personal information. Be mindful of who you share your time, goals and private information with. The lesser they know the better.

I celebrated a birthday just recently, September 11th to be precise on the matter. As to the chronological aspect of my day, it has no bearing whatsoever for me…For as those who know me, I am one who is ageless. I stopped participating in the aging process when my 38th birthday came to pass. It is indeed the mind that controls the body, not the body that reigns over the mind. It is the life lived by us that is of consequence and nothing less. And it is this notion is one of merit for the actions we bring to Life (and yes, the actions we do not take) that affect those around us as well as the world at large. And this my friends, is the matter that presses upon me with great fervor as of late. My own time is without limit for I claim it be so. Some will say I’ve some screws loose and I’m okay with this. In the world of today, I would rather be considered a bit off instead of what passes for normal anyway. However, the clock is running low for our world now. If there is to be a redemption to be had, it is on us to bring it forward and it is our responsibility and yes, our privilege to give this world our gift, God’s gift actually. It is for this very reason that there is a sense of urgency within me as well as externally. To explain this to any reading this is a bit difficult. This urgency that I speak of I can feel physically, emotionally and spiritually these days. Never has it been so strong as it is now. It is a clarion call that I can no longer ignore. Perhaps and probably there are others out there who feel impressed this way. If this be true, I would encourage as well as admonish you to give heed to what you’re feeling and act upon it now. And let me leave you with one additional thought because it is most important here. Here it is for you know. Recognize it for what it offers you. And then use it for it is true. If you can’t think of one good and logical reason why you should do a thing….Then you should do it. Our greatness is not predicated on logic. Sounds like a scary thought, yes? Happy Ramanavami! We celebrate birthdays of many Gods in India. Why? For me, it is to inculcate what they symbolize. Whether one believes in God or not, one believes in Lord Rama or not is secondary. People of every land celebrate real heroes and heroes from stories. Don’t we use the quote from Alice in Wonderland – ‘Begin at the beginning’, a quote from Spiderman – ‘With great power comes great responsibility’! Here is how I see and celebrate Lord Rama and his team in the context of corporate and the current digital world. I wanted to write this at the beginning of my day, but duty called! I had to focus on my work tasks first. Lord Rama is the epitome of dutifulness. So, there you go, I followed him! Almost always Rama is seen with his wife Sita, brother Lakshmana, and his devotee Hanumantha. This is nothing but teamwork! Rama ran his kingdom with his team! A corporate cannot exist without a good team. I am just taking some excerpts from Ramayana to see how we can make connections. Rama is a great leader, like a CEO of a company and there is always a right hand which happens to be Lakshmana. He follows the leader ardently, but he breaks the protocol when there is a need for it. The very essence of a corporate is to discover problems and find solutions to those problems. When Lakshmana breaks the protocol, that is when they discover the problem of Mareecha and the likes! Now, why did Lakshmana break the protocol? He heard Rama’s distressed voice from the jungle. Rama went in search of the golden deer which Sita pleaded to have. Golden deer… this is unusual! There has to be someone to spot the unusual. This can be related to abnormal cyber activity! Chasing the unusual can result in something grave at the other end! We need to be prepared. Someone to spot the golden opportunity, someone to chase it up and someone to hold the fort - sounds very familiar, isn't it? What about Hanuman and the whole monkey army? There was an internal conflict in the monkey kingdom which Rama solved, and he got the support of the whole monkey army. Can’t we relate this to corporate acquisition? A better CEO to lead the combined forces to solve problems for the greater good! We just need to see stories with the right lens, and we will be able to relate with them, however ancient they are! #symbolism #corporate #ramanavami
