We have our first intern! 🥳🥳🥳 The tradition of having 9th graders doing a week of internship in a company is one I always loved! The ability to allow a young individual to see what ‘real’ work looks like, to show the contrast of textbooks and theory, to show a work environment, show the informal conversations during lunch, get them to experience the terrible humor - and to be frank; some of the dull tasks too; is all an amazing thing. It brings perspective. It forms ideas. It sparks interest in new areas. Or equally important; perhaps show what direction they do not want to go. It has immense value. For them. And. For us. We are employers also need fresh perspectives of the employees of the future. It is a superb sanity check - and let me tell you; the future looks bright! The ‘young people of today’ are not lazy. They are tech-savvy. They think differently, and challenge differently. It is superb!👌 So thanks to Sofie for choosing us, we will make sure you see it ‘as it is’. For good and bad 😅😎🥱🚀🥳

I just completed Red Bull's Virtual Internship through Forage ✨ These are the key points which I learned during this Internship tenure :- 1. Completed a job simulation where I advised a Red Bull on how they could grow one of their key accounts. 2. Analyzed a data set from one of Red Bull's key accounts and prepared a summary of my findings and recommendations to my manager, including how Red Bull could grow that account. 3. Meet Jaydon, one of our summer interns! We caught up with him on the job site to ask a few fun questions. We hope you enjoy getting to learn a little more about Jaydon as much as we did! #NationalInternDay What's the most valuable lesson you've learned so far? "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." It's worth doing a little extra work on the front end to prevent a bunch of extra work on the back end.  Who's your role model and why? A couple of role models of mine are my Dad and my Grandpa. Especially in construction, both having and had long careers at Crossland if find a lot of value in the conversations I have with them about construction and in general. If you could have lunch with any celebrity who would it be? George Kittle. What’s the funniest or most memorable moment you’ve had during your internship? The most memorable experience I've had was probably my first summer with Crossland. I worked on a bridge with a bunch of guys that had previously worked with my Grandpa, so naturally they help me out and taught me. I'm very thankful for that experience.  What's one piece of advice you’d give to someone considering an internship in this field? Leave your ego at the door. Take the approach of "I don't know anything" and you will find out people are way more likely to teach you and help you out. What’s your favorite movie or TV show? Suits Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies that your coworkers might be surprised to learn about? I'm pretty decent at thumb wrestling. What has been your favorite thing about working for Crossland? Meeting people and learning more about the construction process. If you could swap jobs with anyone at Crossland for a day, who would it be and why? I would swap jobs with someone in the legal office. I've watched all the episodes of Suits and I feel pretty confident that could handle a case.
