GRAHAM Building’s Post

🥇 GRAHAM Mentors Award-Winning Social Enterprise 🥇   GRAHAM Building is delighted that Distington Community School was awarded ‘Most Profitable Social Enterprise’ by the Centre for Leadership Performance Cumbria for its participation in the Bright Stars programme. Located near the new Community Diagnostic Centre in Workington, which GRAHAM is constructing for North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, GRAHAM was honored to serve as the school’s business mentor for the #BrightStars initiative. This innovative programme fosters leadership and social entrepreneurship among primary school children in #Cumbria. 🗨️ The judges praised the students' efforts, stating: “By selling tickets, snacks, and their cookbook, the pupils made a fantastic profit of over £1,000. Using their communication skills, they wrote letters and emails to parents, shops, and supermarkets, securing generous donations. They also promoted their events with eye-catching posters and ClassDojo posts. Their hard work strengthened connections with local businesses and created a recipe book that families can enjoy for years to come!” The school is very deserving of its £100 cash prize, and GRAHAM knows this money will be put to good use. Well done to all the children who were involved. 👏 Read more about the Bright Stars programme ➡️ https://bit.ly/4gFQfBK #P23 Crown Commercial Service NHS Estates and Facilities Jonathan Hall Peter Reavey Nick Williamson-Corbett Louise Seddon Pam Green Roseanne Edge MCIOB Elizabeth Smith Stuart Darby

What a fantastic way to teach kids the value of leadership and social entrepreneurship.

Thank you, GRAHAM, for your incredible support in mentoring these young leaders on the Bright Stars programme. We absolutely LOVED your social enterprise idea and the fantastic profit you raised from it! Your cookbook concept, along with getting the community involved, was so innovative. I’m sure it’s a memory the children will hold on to for years to come.
