Training to become a police officer is rigorous, and experiencing OC spray is a crucial part of that preparation. It's a challenging experience, but it helps officers understand the effects firsthand and prepares them for real-life situations. Sending encouragement to Class 46 as they near the end of their training! #policetraining

Caught sitting down on the job! It's the first of a few weeks on the road delivering training. I'm currently working with Wiltshire Police running a course on vetting standards. It might not sound like the raciest of subjects but it's vital that forces undertake diligent checks and follow best practice to ensure they recruit the best possible people with high levels of integrity to be the officers of tomorrow. #traininganddevelopment #vetting #integrity

Scenario-based training emphasizing tactical communication as a first step in resolving critical incidents is nothing new, but unfortunately remains a secondary consideration for many law-enforcement agencies. Our hearty congratulations to the College of Policing for prioritizing and promoting improved communication techniques above physical response in the first instance. The use of statistics to demonstrate the effectiveness of these techniques is critical to overcoming misconceptions regarding the depth of skill required to undertake effective verbal de-escalation and should be employed as part of a continuous improvement loop directly integrated with training outcomes.
Our scenario-based public and personal safety training (PPST) has been rolled out to every force in England and Wales. During the pilot of the new training with Avon and Somerset Police we found: 🔹 officers’ use of physical force reduced by 14% 🔹 people injured as a result of officers using force decreased 🔹 officers were much more satisfied with the new course than they were with previous safety training ▶ Hear from our CEO, CC Sir Andy Marsh QPM who experienced the new training with the Metropolitan Police.
