Today, we recognize and honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples across the Americas. It’s an important day to reflect, learn, and show respect for the diverse communities that have shaped our world. Here are some ways to educate yourself and support Indigenous communities: Learn About Local Indigenous Histories: Take the time to learn about the Indigenous peoples who originally inhabited the land where you live and work. Support Indigenous Businesses: Show your support by shopping at Indigenous-owned businesses and exploring their unique offerings. Promote Cultural Awareness: Share resources and stories that highlight indigenous cultures, traditions, and current issues facing these communities. At Steele Strategies, we’re committed to promoting diversity and inclusion by honoring the histories and cultures of all communities. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #LearnAndReflect #SupportIndigenousCommunities

National Latinx (Hispanic) Heritage Month spans September 15 through October 15 each year – a celebration of the rich histories, vibrant cultures, and immense contributions of Latinx (Hispanic) Americans. During this observance, communities, organizations, and schools across the United States host events, educational programs, and cultural activities to honor and showcase Latinx heritage. This commemorative period originated as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 and was expanded into a month-long celebration in 1988 to create opportunities for immersion into the heritage of those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Within these 30 days are significant dates, particularly September 15, which marks the anniversary of independence for several nations including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico celebrates its independence on September 16, followed by Chile on September 18. Far more than merely days on the calendar, these dates symbolize the essence of autonomy and cultural identity as the pillars of Latinx heritage and history. Among the pressing and significant topics brought to the forefront during National Latinx (Hispanic) Heritage Month are colorism and anti-Blackness within Latino culture. These complex and deeply ingrained issues call for thoughtful discourse and proactive endeavors to address and dismantle them. With greater understanding, solidarity can be achieved within the Latinx community and beyond. Moreover, by acknowledging and celebrating the profound beauty and depth of Latinx (Hispanic) culture, the community can confront challenges, celebrate achievements, and emerge stronger and more unified. #LatinxHeritageMonth #HispanicHeritageMonth2024 #Costarica #mexico #elsalvador #guatemala #honduras #nicaragua #chile #centralamerica #southamerica

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, D&A recognizes the incredible contributions of our Hispanic and Latino/a/e friends, neighbors, and colleagues. From advocacy to equity-driven initiatives, we’re committed to lifting up all voices and ensuring that everyone’s story is heard. You might wonder, what’s the difference between Hispanic and Latino/a/e? 🤔 Hispanic refers to individuals with roots in Spanish-speaking countries, emphasizing language. On the other hand, Latino/a/e refers to people from Latin American countries, focusing on geography, regardless of whether they speak Spanish, Portuguese, or Indigenous languages. Both terms celebrate vibrant, diverse cultures that enrich our communities in unique ways. This month, we honor the history, culture, and influence of these communities, who continue to inspire our work toward a more inclusive, just society. #HispanicHeritageMonth #EquityFirst #CelebrateDiversity #InclusionInAction

Indigenous Peoples' Day is coming up soon!*✨ As we approach this important day, I’m reflecting on the significance of celebrating and honoring Indigenous communities here in the U.S. 🧡 As a woman of color, I understand deeply how vital it is to recognize and celebrate cultural heritage, not just for one day, but every day. These moments aren’t just about acknowledgment—they're about uplifting voices, histories, and experiences that have been too often overlooked or marginalized. 🌿 Celebrating cultural heritage months is more than a tradition; it’s a reminder of the resilience, beauty, and strength in diversity. It’s an opportunity to learn, connect, and stand in solidarity with one another. By doing so, we create spaces where everyone can feel seen, heard, and valued. 💪🏽 Let's continue to amplify these stories and keep learning from each other, with the goal of creating a more just and inclusive world for future generations. 🌎✊🏽 #IndigenousPeoplesDay #CulturalHeritage #Equity #DiversityAndInclusion
