Earlier this spring, I was honored with the Stanford University Graduate School of Business's 2024 MBA Distinguished Teaching Award. This is the highest honor bestowed on a professor or lecturer and (for me) is equivalent of a lifetime achievement award. When I started teaching as a case guest 22 years ago, I had no PhD, no research, no experience, and no business success. But I did have one thing going for me. I loved teaching! The experience has been a great reminder for me that when you find something that gives you energy, that is enough; go toward it. Since then, I’ve done just that. Thank you to all the case guests, faculty members and the students I’ve had the pleasure of teaching over the years! The blog post below is adapted from the message I shared at the award ceremony, which you can watch in its entirety on YouTube. Blog: https://lnkd.in/eB2vtDeZ YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eVdJsaG3
Graham Weaver - what a delight to see! I vividly recall the PE panel you were on at 2002 GSB Principal Investment Conference in 2002 when Nancy Ford and I were spearheading it. It was crystal clear to me you had a passion for investing in the next generation and developing talent. Godspeed.
A well deserved honor for a great lecturer
Congrats! Can really feel your passion about teaching this class in your speech.
Congrats and well deserved!! I benefited greatly from being in your classroom!
Congrats Graham Weaver - you taught two of my favorite classes. Too many leadership (+ personal) lessons to count...and many I use on a daily basis. Happy to see you recognized!
Dear Graham, I am so excited about this and so glad!!! Can't wait to see you at reunion!
That's awesome, Graham, and completely unsurprising. #legend
You inspired me Graham to go do my own thing and your genuine care for students really comes through. Big congratulations!
Congratulations! VERY well 👏🏽 deserved 👌🏽
