Covering conveyor belt fasteners with hinge pin Many service companies told me in the past that they are interested to find a way to overcoat usual conveyor belt hinge fasteners in order to reach a good compatibility with belt scrapers. Most of them reported that they tried but that the result was disappointing, as also the well-known manufacturers of hinge fasteners confirmed to me. That’s why I started few years ago to make various tests to find the best solution. Now, I can present the result on a video that shows the best application practice. Multiface® generally achieves a very good adhesion to rubber, without any preparation with any solvents and adhesion promoters, due to the same chemical cross-linking as in hot vulcanization. Therefore, the job can be carried out in all weather conditions, in direct sunlight or below the dew point, or drizzle or rain or snowfall. It can be done immediately after the fastener is installed or later during a short planned outage. The belt is ready for use after less than 60 minutes at +23°C / 73°F, or less, even at temperatures below 0°C / 32°F, by using a heat gun.
