This #MothersDay, meet Marcia, who was inspired by her daughter’s entrepreneurial spirit to start a full-time business in Atlanta, GA. "When she was five years old, she showed interest in becoming a business entrepreneur. I supported her dreams, and she told me I should teach other children so they can learn about entrepreneurship in the same way as adults. There is a clear need for these services in the community.” Read Marcia's full story:

FUN FACT 💡 Did you know that more than half of the richest people on the Forbes 400 list became rich by (wait for it) - starting a business? So, how can our youth also get in on the action? Through entrepreneurship! Check out this mini-clip below on one of the first steps that we teach kids and teens to do before starting a business. Thankfully, we prepare your #KidVestors with the steps that it takes to build a successful company. Our entrepreneurship component of our comprehensive, financial literacy curriculum touches on everything from LLCs to corporations, intellectual property, M&As, and a LOT more. And fortunately, we break these concepts down in a digestible way that’s easy to understand - the KidVestor way of course! This is not your typical kids’ business content that you may have seen before - but a masterclass on how your students can build scalable companies that will help build generational wealth. Try it out and ignite your child or teen's entrepreneurial spirit! WARNING: Your kids might want to start their own business when they are finished. And you never know... you just might have a mini mogul on your hands 😏. https://lnkd.in/eCpvNQRc

This morning, our youngest son (3rd grade) asked, "Why didn't they just work together to start their own farm on their own land?" After talking through that time's power, politics, and systems, he expressed an interest in being a business owner. So game-changers, any recommendations for books, programs, or creative ideas to support his interest? I see many things for middle and high-school-age youth. Having a hard time finding resources for grades 3-5 that aren't focused on lemonade stands. #youthdevelopment #education #entrepreneurship

It may be a little early to hear jingle bells, but it’s not too early to order your Christmas wreaths at luvinstitute.org. The LUV Institute’s annual Wreaths of LUV holiday marketplace is open for business. And our little elves, youth and young adults ages 16 to 24 who’ve experienced trauma, are about to get busy making bows, and decorating wreaths and garland to adorn light poles in seven South Side communities. It’s all part of LUV’s Journey to My Better Self program that exposes them to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Proceeds pay their stipend and supports the program for another year. They have dreams. Let's help make them come true. #empoweryouth #entrepreneurship

Is anyone aware of an entrepreneurship summer camp for adults in the Midwest? My searches keep turning up camps for kids - which is great, but where does a more, ehm, seasoned kid go? Pragmatic Entrepreneurship #entrepreneurshipcourses #pragmaticthinking #designthinking

🎉 Spotlight on Youth Entrepreneurship at the CEC Conference! 🎉 Join us at the CEC Conference in September for an inspiring breakout session, "YEP, You Can Make Moments That Matter," presented by Kim Barnes, President & CEO of The Callaway Bank. With over 10 years at the helm, Kim has been a driving force in community development and economic growth. In this session, Kim will highlight their innovative youth entrepreneurship program, YEP. Kim shares an unforgettable moment that led to the creation of YEP: “One of our lenders came to me about a young FFA member who needed a $45 loan to buy a goat. We brainstormed and created the Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) to support such needs. We wanted to show that entrepreneurship is a valid option for young people.” Why Attend? - Learn about diverse youth-oriented programs that foster business skills. - Discover how community involvement can spark entrepreneurship. - Hear inspiring stories from a true community leader. Kim emphasizes, “We don’t thrive unless our communities thrive. Founder @ Call for Culture. People, Impact & Culture Executive. Creating a better 🌎 of work by empowering and mobilizing culture change leaders.
I’m just going to say this part out loud … There are way too many grant and funding programs that are centered around “teaching” Black and brown Founders about traditional and basic models of entrepreneurship and business. What we need is the access and funding needed to execute our ideas and solutions - to re-envision and shape entrepreneurship and business centered in community and collective liberation. 🚫Not forced mentorship 🚫Not a multi-month cohort program 🚫Not a biz 101 course
