Launched in New Delhi by Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, The TeacherApp aims to assist teachers, B.Ed students, principals and other educators with modern classroom education skills, educational content and kits and help them shape youth education with newly acquired skills. The app is created by the Bharti Airtel Foundation. Notable dignitaries, such as Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Co-Chairman of the Bharti Airtel Foundation and Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, and Ms. Mamta Saikia, CEO of the Bharti Airtel Foundation, was also present at the event. The platform, in line with the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, seeks to develop educators who are prepared for the future and capable of meeting the changing demands of education, More than 900 hours of instructional materials, including courses, learning bytes, short films, podcasts, interactive webinar formats, and tests, are already available on the app to facilitate educators with quality content. Not only this, the users can access webinars, podcasts, videos, and courses within the app's more than 260 hours of content. There are interactive exercises like tests and contests. Additionally, the app has motivational tales from accomplished teachers. The TeacherApp is free and is available on iOS, Android, and the web. This wide accessibility benefits teachers from different backgrounds, and quality education secures the future of the youth. Education is a government controlled service in India. Ed tech companies have replaced classrooms with apps and video lectures. The teachers use smart boards instead of black boards. But, the core focus is still on completing the syllabus and clearing exams. Getting a rank is still the highest form of success. The education policies force all the stakeholders to focus on competition instead of curiosity. If Ed tech companies want to "revolutionize" education, they need to influence policies created by governments and education boards. They need to build a system where the focus moves away from exams. 🚨 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗦𝗔 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 The recent enhancements to the Direct School Admission (DSA) scheme mark a pivotal shift in Singapore’s education system. MOE’s bold move to focus on 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 and demand accountability from schools in nurturing talents is a long-overdue step in the right direction. For too long, DSA has been used by some as a shortcut to secure spots in top schools - often without a commitment to nurture the very talents that got them there. These changes push for a system that celebrates 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 - the kind that isn’t always polished or packaged - and ensures every student gets the opportunity to grow in a meaningful way. Change can be uncomfortable, especially for parents used to traditional ways. But let’s face it: education shouldn’t be about gaming the system. It’s about empowering students to discover their strengths, develop their passions, and build paths that align with who they are. MOE’s focus on inclusivity and growth is a significant step forward.
