Happy #NationalInternDay too all of us Intern serving at the corporations of our choice. I'm nearly at the final stretch of my internship, and I must say it's been quite an interesting ride for me. I've learned so much at White Cap, as I have amazing managers and mentors such as Alan Jopson, Brandy Stewart, Dustin Schroeder, CISM, Karan Sharma, Jon Bevan, David Belcher, and more guiding me through my time here at White Cap. I've also come across other interns who has also made my time at White Cap very enjoyable. I love the connections I made here, and I look forward to seeing where we all end up after this. I spent the last ten week (two more to go), learning about vendor relationships, and how to do business with such vendors. I've also spent some time learning information security concept such as IAM (Identity and Access Management), GRC, (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), SOC Reports, and more. I can definitely say that it's been an enriching and informational experience for me so far.
As a White Cap IT VMO Intern, I focused on bridging together the IT and business department of the company. We essentially build relationship with vendors, and ensure that the vendor partners we do business with, delivers high-quality products such as a software or services such as Staff Augmentation to White Cap as a whole. During my time here, not only have I worked with the IT VMO team and vendor partners, but also the Information Security team due to my experience in Cybersecurity, and my passion for it. Through the InfoSec team, we do vendor assessments to make sure the vendors we plan to do business with-are authentic and genuine to their services. I've touched upon several tasks during my time here at White Cap:
•Smartsheet Usage (Invoicing and Task Tracking)
•Ironclad for tracking created vendor contracts
•i2B (Supplier Performance Scorecards)
•Vendor Site Visits
•SOC Report, PowerBi, Intrusion Reports, and other InfoSec Reviews
•Worked on QRC (Quick Reference Card), Market Analysis, and RFx Resource Guide
•Vendor Spotlight
•Participated in QBR (Quarterly Business Review), RFI, RFP, and RFQ (Request for Information, Proposal and Quote)
•Linkeldn Learning Continuous Education
•Worked on PO within Oracle (Future state in Coupa), and many others that's too long to list down.
Overall, I like to thank White Cap for such an amazing experience, for I was able to learn so much from them in such a small amount of time. I'll like to thank Jasmine D. James and Natalie Rudakevych for making this internship possible, and fun as well. I'm grateful again for the connections I made in this organization. I look forward to utilizing what I learned at White Cap, and applying my new skillset to the next place I go. Happy Intern Appreciation Day once again. #interns #whitecap #ITVMO #InfoSec #internappreciation #cybersecurity
