As an extremely exothermic reaction, the methanation of hydrogen and carbon monoxide/ dioxide requires significant heat resistance from both the reactor and the catalyst. While nickel is the most commonly used catalyst, ruthenium is sometimes preferred for its high catalytic activity and impressive resistance to oxidizing atmospheres. #PowerToGas #Catalyst #Catalysis #BiogasUpgrading #Biogas #HydrogenEnergy #Methanation #TechNews #NaturalGasGrid #RNG #Methane #Sustainability #ChemicalEngineering
