While concrete countertops offer a distinctive industrial chic look, they do require regular maintenance to keep them in top condition. Sealing and resealing are necessary to protect the surface from stains and water damage. For homeowners seeking a low-maintenance alternative that mimics the look of concrete, engineered quartz countertops are an excellent option. https://zurl.co/UE4o

Even this little guy knows Granite Curbs are superior to cast concrete in strength, abrasive resistance, durability, cost of maintenance, reusability and aesthetics. Some reasons why: Road milling is now a common practice—granite holds up well during the process, concrete does not. Longevity of precast concrete is estimated at 20 years (far less in severe freeze/thaw zones) while longevity of granite is deemed ‘indefinite” due to its superior strength and resistance to abrasion and to resistance to deterioration from ice melting agents. High cost and environmental impact of dumping used concrete curbing make concrete a poor choice. Setting expenses of granite curbing are now comparable to setting expenses for precast concrete due to advances in fabricating granite that produce consistent shape and thickness. DO IT ONCE. DO IT WITH STONE. #roadconstruction #granitecurb #streetscape #polycor

Terrazzo is a composite material, poured in place or prefabricated, which is used for flooring, base, walls, stair treads, countertops, and other custom products. Inorganic Terrazzo is also called cement or concrete terrazzo, or concrete collaborative type. Distinguish from Epoxy or Resin Terrazzo, the Inorganic type uses high grade cement as the binding adhesive. So it has the umcomarable strength & performance of the epoxy type. https://lnkd.in/gG8UsmKx

Diamond blades are designed for cutting through various materials like concrete, brick, tile, and asphalt. They come in different styles and shapes specialized for specific materials and cutting conditions. Segmented type blades, with their wider slots, are ideal for rough cuts in abrasive materials such as concrete, reinforced concrete, asphalt, and construction materials. They can be used for both dry and wet cutting. Raft concrete, or raft foundation, is a large, thick concrete slab used to support a building. It spreads the building's load over a wide area, helping to prevent settling or shifting, particularly on weak or uneven soil. The slab is usually reinforced with steel bars (rebar) for added strength. Raft foundations are typically used when the soil cannot support the building with traditional footing systems, ensuring stability by evenly distributing weight across the foundation. #HiliteBoulevard ✨️

Having a level difference on your slab increases the thickness of tile bedding. At that thickness, tile bedding mortar results in cracking in the tiles above. One cannot go with PCC as it increase the dead load. Reduce dead load and enhance structural efficiency in your construction projects. Consider the advantages of using perlite lightweight concrete as tile bedding, especially in high-rise buildings or commercial/hospital structures where the thickness of tile bedding increases with the increase in the floor span. By adopting perlite lightweight concrete for tile bedding, you not only enhance the structural performance of your buildings but also contribute to sustainable and cost-effective construction practices. You may argue, foam concrete does the same. However, foam concrete has a lot of disadvantages as it shrinks after application which gives you an undulated surface. Also, it is not sustainable and contains Volatile Organic Chemicals. #FunFactFriday! Grinding concrete is an essential step in the process of preparing a surface for epoxy flooring. The process involves using a diamond grinder to roughen up the concrete surface, which creates a rough surface for the epoxy to adhere to. #EpoxyFlooring #EpoxyCoating #EpoxyProfessionals
