🧠 Building neuroscience teams one hire at a time

🧬🥼 There's no money! More and more pharma & bio companies are doing their own recruiting. I'm seeing an increase in jobs that have been live for 2-6 months+. A job I've started working on this week has been live for just over a year now. Let's be real for a second - this is not good. Your last round of investment will run out. Cash is finite until next round of funding and if you do get those funds can you realistically hit the ground running in the next phase if you don't have the people in place? Not even just moving to the next phase, what about back-filling? Life cycle of employees within life sciences is typically quite short therefore the chances of someone leaving you is quite high, can you afford to have a job live for even a month let alone 2+? Your progress will be halted and again, your funding will run out. Numerous other examples I can touch on but is it worth headhunting yourself for these long periods of time just to save on an agency fee? Not only dwindling time & resource from the company, but also your time & resource which I'm sure would be better placed elsewhere (unless you have a TA team of course in which case you can lean on them). #lifescience #pharma #biotech #SJRLifescience
