Recognizing the crucial role of the renewable gases and especially the green hydrogen in the global, as well as national, energy strategy of the next years, Grant Thornton took part in the 2nd Hydrogen & Green Gases Forum, organized by energypress.gr, where participants had the opportunity to discuss the prospects and obstacles related to renewable gases, both for Greece and for the European Union. Our organization was represented by Despina Tzoulaki, PhD, Senior Manager, Energy Sector, who shared her valuable insights regarding the key role of our country in the Balkans and the wider region as a prominent exporter of green hydrogen to serve the pronounced demand located primarily in North Europe. #GrantThornton #Energy #RenewableGases #GreenGases #GreenHydrogen

Germany is urging the European Union to relax regulations on #greenhydrogen production to boost market growth and reduce costs, as revealed in a leaked letter from Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck to EU Energy Commissioner Kari Simson. The request focuses on delaying the implementation of "additionality" and hourly matching rules under the #RenewableEnergy Directive (RED II), which are seen as a barrier to the economic feasibility of green hydrogen projects and potentially slowing the EU's transition to renewable energy.
