Germany is urging the European Union to relax regulations on #greenhydrogen production to boost market growth and reduce costs, as revealed in a leaked letter from Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck to EU Energy Commissioner Kari Simson. The request focuses on delaying the implementation of "additionality" and hourly matching rules under the #RenewableEnergy Directive (RED II), which are seen as a barrier to the economic feasibility of green hydrogen projects and potentially slowing the EU's transition to renewable energy.
