🌲🌳 In early 2024, The Scottish Government launched a public consultation to gather views on the revised Circular Economy and Waste Route Map to 2030. The Route Map sets out a series of proposed actions under four strategic themes:   1. Reduce and reuse 2. Modernise recycling 3. Decarbonise disposal 4. Strengthen the circular economy   The Lines Between was commissioned to analyse the responses to the consultation and report on the findings. The European Economic and Social Committee calls for a stronger EU focus on recycling and raw material recovery👏♻️ Following the EESC opinion adopted on 28 October, this message highlights #recycling's critical role in achieving a circular economy and reducing EU dependency on imported raw materials. Key EESC Asks: 🔹Revamp the EU waste management strategy to support recycling and resource recovery and address rising waste levels due to population growth and industrialisation. 🔹Increase financial support for advanced recycling tech and establish harmonised standards for secondary materials across Member States. 🔹Encourage public awareness initiatives to drive behavioral change for waste reduction and resource preservation. The EESC envisions a Europe where efficient recycling and robust cross-border regulations help create thriving secondary materials markets, cut down #landfill use, and push sustainable development forward.

In December 2024, S&P Global CSA released the results of INTCO Recycling's 2024 global corporate sustainability assessment, among which S&P Global ESG Score won 60 points; S&P Global CSA Score won 59 points, Industry CSA Score Average 32/100, Percentile 94%; from 52 points last year to 60 points, and the percentage increased from 91% last year to 94%, that is, in 2024, it surpassed 94% of the participating companies and ranked among the top 6% in the industry.
