This is well worth a read if you are seeking grant funding. Some great tips here thank you Gill Pipkin. Writing bids is time consuming and so often pressured with short deadlines. So important to do the groundwork, be prepared, read the funding criteria carefully, write in simple terms and avoid jargon, tell your story of who you help, why and the difference you will make but make sure you are answering the question being asked! Take any opportunity to build a relationship with your funder. #charity #fundraising

Since 2021, we have improved the way we make grants by using the eight #OpenAndTrusting principles. This is the third report tracking our progress. It builds on our current commitments to our applicants and grant holders and responds to the feedback we received through our most recent applicant and grant holder survey. Minessa 🌈 Konecky and Holly Z. have great advice about letters of support for grant proposals. Think strategically to identify individuals/organizations who can recognize the importance of the proposed work and reinforce key concepts of the grant proposal with their letters.

As RAs we often find ourselves in the rewarding position of working with new investigators who are just beginning to submit grants, and are figuring out how to put the documents together. The question I often get asked is, how important are your letters of support? Can I just write it for my investigator and get their rubber stamp on it? Does anyone even look at these things?
