What a great combination! This workshop topic is always relevant, and Alexandra Schuppert, MBA and Lynn Arsenault McGinnity, MBA are among the grant professionals to whom I most often refer folks. Join if you can!
***FREE ONLINE WORKSHOP this Wed. 7/10 @12pm*** Congratulations - you submitted a grant proposal that was awarded! But now what? Now it's time to steward that funder, meet reporting requirements, and ensure you're building a lasting relationship (that could potentially lead to more funding). Grant reports can be overwhelming and often take as much time to write as the proposal itself. Join me and Lynn Arsenault of LMA Grant Consulting on Wednesday, July 10 at 12-1pm EST as we explore how to put your best foot forward in grant reports. We will also talk about how to write a strong evaluation and outcomes section in your proposal which will ultimately facilitate your ability to report on your results. You can register here: https://lnkd.in/e99V_CRd

This is well worth a read if you are seeking grant funding. Some great tips here thank you Gill Pipkin. Writing bids is time consuming and so often pressured with short deadlines. So important to do the groundwork, be prepared, read the funding criteria carefully, write in simple terms and avoid jargon, tell your story of who you help, why and the difference you will make but make sure you are answering the question being asked! Take any opportunity to build a relationship with your funder. #charity #fundraising

Our Open and Trusting Progress Report for 2023/24 is out now ➡️https://lnkd.in/ebVX32kY Open and Trusting is a framework by Institute For Voluntary Action Research that supports funders to be more flexible and responsive to applicants' needs. Since 2021, we have improved the way we make grants by using the eight #OpenAndTrusting principles. This is the third report tracking our progress. It builds on our current commitments to our applicants and grant holders and responds to the feedback we received through our most recent applicant and grant holder survey. In 2023/24, we responded to this feedback by: 👉Working hard to ensure closing dates align more to applicants' needs 👉Providing more advice and guidance for lengthy application forms 👉Sharing good funding practice with other partners Read our 2023/24 Open and Trusting Report for all our learning, reflections and actions: https://lnkd.in/ebVX32kY

Minessa 🌈 Konecky and Holly Z. have great advice about letters of support for grant proposals. Think strategically to identify individuals/organizations who can recognize the importance of the proposed work and reinforce key concepts of the grant proposal with their letters.

As RAs we often find ourselves in the rewarding position of working with new investigators who are just beginning to submit grants, and are figuring out how to put the documents together. The question I often get asked is, how important are your letters of support? Can I just write it for my investigator and get their rubber stamp on it? Does anyone even look at these things? In a recent blog post, Holly Z. highlights some key misconceptions about letters of support – answering the question, is more really better or can you go for less, more impactful letters? Check out her overview of Letters of Support and how to get the most out of them in her blog post and send the link out the next time a PI asks how important letters of support are. https://lnkd.in/g8Af-JRi
