Graphcom’s Post

Where printing started... Creative VP Troy Dean recently took a trip down to The Library of Congress, where he was able to see the Gutenberg Bible on display. Johannes Gutenberg, the "father of printing," was a German inventor, printer, and publisher who is best known for developing the movable-type printing press. This machine – debatably one of the most important inventions of all time – made it much easier and faster to print books, replacing the old methods of hand-copying or block printing. His most famous work, the Gutenberg Bible, was printed around 1455. It was the first large book made with his press and showed how powerful his invention was. Gutenberg’s printing press changed the world by making books cheaper and more widely available. This helped people learn more, spread ideas faster, and kickstarted big changes like the Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution. Pretty cool if you ask us! #GraphcomLearns #PrintingPress #HistoryLesson
