Certain entities, including many small businesses, are now required to report information about individuals 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 them to #FinCEN. Many financial institutions 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 from certain customers opening accounts as part of Federal customer due diligence requirements. Entities need to comply with the 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐭 by reporting beneficial ownership information to FinCEN. Customers must also provide beneficial ownership information to financial institutions when opening accounts to meet #Federal customer due diligence requirements. This step is crucial for maintaining #Transparency and #Compliance within the financial sector.
