We're looking for an Operations Associate to support us with building out the Pre-Seed and Seed strategy, on a mission to find, invest in, and support Europe’s most ambitious early stage B2B founders, working on an initial 6-month fixed term contract. We’re aiming for complete coverage of the European B2B startup ecosystem and this role is one of the key initiatives to help us achieve this ambition. This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of how venture capital works and accelerate your career in the tech ecosystem. This role covers a range of responsibilities from operational management of the inbound deal funnel, company screening, building dashboards and tracking performance, through to planning and delivery of events such as masterclasses, retreats and mentoring sessions and growing portfolio, angel and VC communities. About you: To be successful in this role, we feel that you must have had at least 1 year of work experience in an operational role and a demonstrable track record of execution in either a startup or a VC fund. There are many ways to screw up hiring a virtual assistant. Here are the 3 biggest mistakes that I see people making: 1- Looking for someone who can do EVERYTHING (A unicorn) 2- Not having a clear definition of the tasks they want to be completed 3- No operating procedures to follow I have heard people complain time and again that they hired someone and it did not work out. “They just didn't know how to do things the way I wanted” In my experience, this is YOUR fault 85% of the time. Nobody can read your mind. Nobody understands your business like you. Nobody can guess how you want things done. Create clear and concise tasks and expectations. Or keep doing everything yourself 🤷🏽♂️
