While many believe 🍀 does create some level of opportunity – a chance meeting that leads to a job interview or a boss quitting unexpectedly, opening a path to a fast-tracked promotion – nothing enables greater career success than working harder and preparing more.

Luck doesn’t play an essential role in most real success.
It is where proactive preparation, perspiration, perseverance and passionate persistence meet opportunity.
In the US, we fantasize about the American Dream – being self-made in the land of opportunity – the country so full of success that anyone can become great. Today, it’s not that easy.
As we celebrate Presidents' Day, I’m reflecting on the concept of luck and its intersection with hard work and determination. Luck is often seen as a mysterious force beyond our control, but in reality, it's where preparation meets opportunity.
The great leaders we honor today, from Washington to Lincoln and beyond, understood this truth intimately. They didn't rely solely on chance; they forged their own paths through relentless effort and unwavering resolve.
For these presidents, luck wasn't just a matter of chance; it was a product of their dedication to excellence and their willingness to seize opportunities when they arose. Whether it was Washington's strategic brilliance during the Revolutionary War or Lincoln's steadfast leadership during the Civil War, they recognized luck favored the prepared mind.
They cultivated their skills, honed their craft, and remained vigilant for opportunities to make a difference.
So as we commemorate Presidents' Day in, remember that luck is not simply a roll of the dice, but rather the outcome of hard work, determination, and the courage to pursue opportunities with unwavering commitment. Like the presidents who came before us, strive to create luck by embracing challenges, staying true to your values, and seizing every chance to make a positive impact on the world.
Some call it luck when they succeed.
