Another great private course with our friends over at ACCESS PT! We have loved working with their team this year and can't wait for our next course with them!
Our Middletown, NY location recently hosted the "Comprehensive Treatment of the Hip" continuing education course by Great Lakes Seminars. Our clinicians enjoyed the opportunity to explore identifying, assessing, and treating hip dysfunction, and gained hands-on experience in Muscle Energy Technique and myofascial release.
Thanks to Great Lakes Seminars for providing another exceptional learning experience!

⌛ People need time after ACL injury ⌛
Time to let the knee calm down.
Time to work on reducing swelling, improve ROM, get the quads recruiting better.
Time to let the emotion of the injury pass, and make better treatment decisions.
Time to consult with various health care providers who have expert knowledge in ACL injury management.
Of course there are some people who unfortunately don't have time on their side.
Professional athletes and people with fractures and repairable meniscus tears spring to mind.
3 months of time and high quality rehab may also show that the ACL can start the process of healing.
Around 50% of cases without specific bracing protocol (Filbay et al, 2022) or 90% with Cross Bracing Protocol (Filbay et al 2023).
What's your thoughts here on giving people at least 3 months of time AND supervised, high quality strengthening rehab?
Each of you will have different views based on your clinical caseload and country you're practising in; so I'm interested to hear other people's views/opinions and experiences
After more ACL rehab education?

The exercises you suggest are only as good as your client's investment in doing them with intention.
For your clients to be intentional, they must first be aware of the objective, what they should be connected with, and what they should feel.
Awareness is the key to success. Patient education is paramount.
You can't change what you don't acknowledge, or can't feel.
A key concept in Neuro Reconditioning is establishing client awareness. The neurological system is optimized through greater connection and intentionality.
Exteroception and Interoception are valuable elements of our brain's understanding of where it is in time and space, and greater awareness is key.
It takes time and effort to bring awareness, but the outcomes are far more powerful, and client engagement is far more fruitful.
Speaking of exercises, if you want more drills and exercises to change your client's movement quality and eliminate pain, we've created a completely online course, "Essentials of Neuro Reconditioning", that you can DL today, click here to register and improve your practice today! https://lnkd.in/gNdd4sSN
