It might not seem obvious at first, but empathy and leadership are a powerful duo. It's the start of deeper connections, clearer communication, and unstoppable collaboration. Teams at organizations like Bumble, NASA, and Stanford are living proof of its impact. How can you add empathy to your leadership style? Start by tuning into your emotions to strengthen your emotional awareness. Don't hide from conflict within your team; get comfortable being uncomfortable.

Ten ways to boost employee motivation #Tenways

Every organization and leader is looking for ways to boost motivation and engagement with their employees. So, how do you do it? While fads will come and go, leadership by example will never go out of style. Emotionally intelligent leaders model the behavior they want their employees to show. They have a great work ethic and positive attitude. It also begins with a positive, culturally minded approach toward recognition, growth and fairness, mixed with a strategically oriented approach toward establishing clear vision and goals. Here's the thing I get asked all the time by leaders-- YES, you can establish this both virtually and in-person. You can allow people the flexibility to be themselves, while building 1:1 and team rapport. Start the conversation by asking what people want and work from there to ensure both their needs and the organization's needs are met. I tell leaders to find the intersection where this is possible. It's worth the effort-- it's worth the connection and conversations to ensure everyone is motivated, energized and feels belonging to achieve great things together. What would you add that helps boost employee motivation? Special thanks to lovetoknow for this powerful graphic.

Most of us know how important inspiration can be in everyday life. In the workplace, as one pundit put it, employees react differently when they encounter a wall. Satisfied employees hold a meeting to discuss what to do about walls. Engaged employees begin looking around for ladders to scale the wall. Inspired employees break right through it. Creating a true inspiring culture in an organization should be the prime goal of a leader for the long-term success. The culture of criticism, negation and a breed of naysayers will definitely lead organizations to tailspin.

In a world of constant change and fierce competition, one thing remains invaluable: loyal employees. These are the individuals who go the extra mile, support the organization through thick and thin, and embody the values of the company. Yet, they’re often the ones who feel overlooked. Loyalty shouldn’t be taken for granted. It’s built on trust, respect, and mutual investment. Losing a loyal team member isn’t just losing a worker—it’s losing institutional knowledge, commitment, and a key contributor to your culture. As leaders, we must ask ourselves: Are we recognizing their dedication? Are we offering growth opportunities? Are we listening to their needs and ideas? The cost of replacing a loyal employee far outweighs the time and effort it takes to invest in their growth and well-being. Keep them engaged, appreciated, and challenged—because once they’re gone, the void they leave behind can be difficult to fill. Take care of your team, and your team will take care of the mission. 🤝

I'm a huge fan of fostering a positive employee experience, but let's not confuse that with letting performance slide! If managers and leads are afraid to address performance issues solely due to their wrong interpretation of Employee-centric culture, hesitating to address their team's performance for fear of escalation by their team, it can hinder growth and development. Employee-centricity doesn't mean ignoring performance issues by Manager or Leads . It's about creating a culture of respect, open communication, and accountability. By embracing accountability within an employee-centric culture, we empower individuals and unlock collective success. Why is this important? A study by Gallup found that only 12% of employees strongly agree their performance is managed in a way that motivates them. That's a huge missed opportunity! Let's ditch the "hug box" and build thriving teams, together! Leaders, what are your thoughts on navigating this balance? Share your tips and experiences in the comments! #leadership #culture #performance #growth #accountability #wellbeing #employeecentric
