As hiring managers, finding the right fit for your construction team can make or break a project’s success. Here are a few tips to keep in mind during interviews: Experience Isn’t Just a Number 📊: Don’t just look at how many years they’ve been in the industry—find out specific projects they’ve worked on. What challenges did they face and how did they solve them? Real-world problem-solving is key. Hands-on Skills Matter 🔧: While technical knowledge is great, it’s essential to verify their hands-on experience. Ask about the tools, equipment, and technology they’ve worked with. Safety-First Mentality 🦺: Construction is a high-risk industry. Make sure candidates have a strong safety track record and can demonstrate knowledge of safety protocols and regulations. Teamwork & Communication 🗣️: Construction isn’t a solo effort. Ensure they can work well with others, communicate effectively with teams, and handle on-site challenges collaboratively. Culture Fit is Key 🏗️: Beyond skills and experience, make sure they align with your company’s culture and values. A positive team environment is crucial for efficiency and job satisfaction. A great hire can lift your projects to new heights. Let Restoration Consulting Group help you hire smart and build strong! 💪 #HiringTips #ConstructionRecruitment #TeamBuilding #Leadership #ProjectManagers #Superintendents #ProjectEngineers #DFWConstruction #CommercialConstruction

The SEAT method is a structured approach to answer interview questions like "Tell me about yourself." S (Situation): "I have a strong background in [your field/industry], with over [number] years of experience working on various projects." E (Experience): "In my recent role at [most recent company], I handled [specific responsibilities or tasks related to the role you're applying for], where I had the opportunity to apply my skills in [mention any relevant skill or technology]." A (Actions): "I took initiatives such as [specific actions or contributions you made, like streamlining processes, leading teams, or solving challenges] to improve project outcomes." T (Task/Results): "These efforts led to [mention a positive result, like increased efficiency, cost savings, or successful project completion], showcasing my ability to add value to a team and drive results." #SEATmethod #InterviewSkills #TellMeAboutYourself #JobInterviewTips #CareerExperience #ProfessionalBackground #SituationActionResult #STARmethod #WorkExperience #TechnicalSkills #TeamCollaboration #ProjectManagement #ResultsDriven #BIMExpert #DynamoSpecialist #RevitModeling #AutoCADSkills #StructuralDrafting #LeadershipSkills #ProcessImprovement #ProjectEfficiency #ConstructionIndustry #BuildingDesign #StakeholderEngagement #CareerAchievements #ValueAddition #TechnicalExpertise #ProblemSolving #ProjectSuccess #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerGrowth #InterviewPreparation #JobSearchTips #SuccessInInterviews #TechnicalInterview #IndustryExpert #ClientSatisfaction #EfficiencyDriven #GoalOriented #TeamLeadership #QualityStandards #ResultOriented #ProfessionalSkills #CareerPath #RoleResponsibilities #ClientEngagement #ProjectDelivery #SkillsShowcase #IndustryExperience #AchievingExcellence #ProfessionalAccomplishments #abidcdm

"There's over 150 applicants for the role, is there any point in me still applying?" This is what a Project Manager candidate called to ask me earlier this week. Linkedin Jobs (rightly or wrongly) displays the number of people that have applied for each role. Don't let this put you off applying! Lets break the numbers down, out of the 161 candidates who applied ⬇ 🔹 47 didn't have a right to work in the UK. 🔹 58 had no prior experience in the Construction industry 🔹 17 had the technical background but lacked in industry experience. 🔹 32 had the required amount of industry experience but not the correct technical ability/skillset. 🔹 7 had been shortlisted for the role* It goes to show, if you think you have the right skill set and experience then you should go for it. Even if you are not 100% the right candidate right now, you're on that recruiter's/employers radar for future roles. *From the 7 that were shortlisted, 2 candidates are interviewing this week 🤞

There is no lack of content out there on the internet. Planning Engineers should answer the below questions before they consume any content. 1- Can it be applied in a practical way that allows me to add value and help projects move forward? 2- Will it make me more productive at work? 3- Can I achieve better results with this knowledge at work? 4- Will it help me get shortlisted for vacancies or pass interviews? If the answer is no, ignore it and move on. Learn how to manage the constant noise and distractions around you. This will give you the time, focus and clarity to have a great career. Save your energy and time for things that help you improve and move forward. #powerbi #projectcontrol #primaverap6 #planningengineer #planningandscheduling #delayanalysis

How do you prepare for an upcoming interview for a Project Controls role? What is your approach? Do you prepare based on your current role? Or Do you prepare based on the new opportunity? You are definitely reading the Job Description thoroughly, right? What else? Do you research about the company? Do you structure your interview? How do you answer the question – “Tell us about your career journey?” Do you say something like – I completed my graduation in 2010, then I completed by Post graduation in 2012, then I got my first job, these were my roles and responsibilities, then I got my next job, I did so and so there…. All of that is there in your Resume, still they are asking you this question. Why? Did you reflect on it? If you prepare only based on your current and past roles, you will miss the bus. Few Suggestions ▶️ Give your responses relevant to the intersection between the needs of the organisation and what you have to offer (your experience, skills etc.) For example : Your expertise gained working with a client who has awarded them new projects. ▶️ Structure the responses. For example: My focus areas in my current role are 1️⃣ Establishment/Management of Project Controls system 2️⃣ Project Documentation 3️⃣ Planning and Scheduling 4️⃣ Variations/Change orders ▶️ You may talk briefly on each area and give examples of any accomplishment. ▶️ Find out the Unique value which you will bring to the project role. ▶️ Highlight Safety related proactive contributions and actions. ▶️ Select an example project, prepare a mental walkthrough and discuss its schedule in the interview. What else would you add? Do share your comments…. Write to me if you want to learn more about developing your Project Controls career. #projectcontrols #projectplanning

Request for 3 Project Manager Interviews Hello! I need your help! I’m looking to conduct 3 interviews with project managers—preferably those with senior-level experience. Objective: I want to gain a deeper understanding of your project planning process and the tools you currently use. Timeline: I need to complete these interviews by December 31st. Given the holiday schedule, I understand this may be challenging. This is for an application we’re submitting, which is why the timeline is so tight. What’s in it for you? In exchange for your time (1 hour), I’ll help you create a customized template in STS (valued at $1,000). This template will: • Improve collaboration with stakeholders. • Help you identify and reduce project risks. • Streamline and accelerate your planning process. STS is also a great tool for virtual teams, and access is currently free. You’re not obligated to accept this offer, but it’s my way of showing appreciation for your valuable insights. Thank you for considering this! Let me know if you’re interested or have any questions. To participate please send a DM or schedule a time using this link: https://lnkd.in/gmCfMMBh Please write "PM Interview" on the application so that I know the purpose of the call. If this isn't relevant to you could you please give it a like, so that others in your network might come across it. Thank you so much!!! Priya

𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞? I came across an interesting approach by Holly Taylor, the Head of People at Public Digital, who does something unique during the hiring process—she sends candidates their interview questions a week in advance! Her goal? To create a more thoughtful and equitable interview process. 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄’𝐒 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐌𝐄: 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Candidates get time to think critically and provide more meaningful responses, especially for complex, values-based questions. 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐭: Sharing questions upfront helps candidates better understand the company’s culture and values. 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 "𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐭": Taylor believes quick thinking in interviews doesn’t necessarily translate to quality work. Her experience showed that giving candidates time led to deeper, more substantive answers. This got me thinking about our space in #civilengineering — where thoughtful, well-considered answers matter in leadership and project management roles. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤?
