In Zambia, several farmers expressed interest in fish farming after learning about Peace Corps' Rural Aquaculture project. Peace Corps Volunteer Rileigh and her counterpart supported the local farmers to make that happen. Collaborating with 18 farmers, Rileigh and her counterpart provided insights in selecting a site, pond staking, and even applied for a successful Peace Corps grant. This opened up opportunities for the farmers to stock their ponds with fingerling and fish food, purchase essential equipment, and receive technical training on sustainable practices. Their story shows how important fish farming is to Zambian communities for economic opportunity, food security, and the resilience of families. Rural aquaculture positions in the Zambia and other openings have a July 1 application deadline. Apply now: https://bit.ly/2Et46LR #PeaceCorps #PeaceCorpsZambia
