May We Help is a local nonprofit that collaborates with volunteers from various professions who work together to design, build, and deliver custom devices free of charge to hundreds of individuals with special needs each year. These devices empower people to gain independence and pursue their passions. GCF has partnered with generous donors to support May We Help’s core programs with a $30,000 grant. THIS is an excellent video showing the power of #CommunityNetworks to get people #InternetAccess when they don’t have (or can’t afford) other options. Excellent work! We need to get the #InternetForEveryone and this is certainly one way to extend #Internet connectivity to more people…
In 2020, LaShawn Williamson founded Wave 7 Communications, a new Internet service provider in the rural community of Enfield, North Carolina. Wave 7 works to provide the community with fast, affordable, and reliable Internet service. It also partners with a local nonprofit, the Community of Hope Center, to teach digital skills to senior citizens. In collaboration with Truist, we helped fund these efforts through the Expanding Potential in Communities (EPIC) Grant Program. Our work with Wave 7 brings us closer to realizing our vision of an #InternetForEveryone. Donate today to support more efforts like this as we grow and protect the Internet: https://ow.ly/NxK350RK1BM

Why are TOO many nonprofit strategic plans ho-hum? And why do people dread redoing them? 1. They focus on tactics, not strategies. 2. They exclude the people who will execute them (staff, board, donors, funders, and other supporters). 3. They don't address the three critical areas: money, people, and mission/vision clarity. It's time to elevate your strategic planning and make it impactful! #boardeffectiveness,#boardofdirectors, #governance, #nonprofitboards, #effectivemeetings, #strategicplanning, #boardengagement, #boardmeeting

Did you know less than 1% of philanthropic dollars support voter education, registration, and turnout? Funders have many opportunities to get involved and support nonprofits and their communities to help more Americans participate in our democracy. If you work in philanthropy, use our free toolkit to get started today and invest in voter engagement in the communities you serve. https://lnkd.in/eqxiwsCp
