Curious about coworking and how community spaces can help our towns thrive? Please sign up on our website: https://lnkd.in/ec2n7Cmi We have a growing number of entrepreneurs, remote employees, freelancers, and creatives working in isolation at home. Coworking spaces provide us the opportunity to share resources and skills, energize each other, incubate new businesses, and help turn ideas into successful ventures. With Greater Franklin CoWorks we envision a network of coworking spaces in our historic downtowns, where members are welcome across the network, where communities can host workshops and events. The first step is finding out if we have the demand we think we do, and where people want to cowork. We need your help to gauge that interest, to reach all the folks working at their kitchen tables. Questions? Ask us in the comments. And please share, share, share! It takes a community to raise a coworking network!

How do you make coworking better? There are many ways to do this: 1/ You can create content. And educate about what’s coworking. You can educate people who work in the industry. Show different ways of coworking. Some more creative. Some more innovative. Some unexpected. And you can educate people who do not know yet about coworking. Showing all of its benefits. Its different shapes. Flavors. 2/ You can organize training. Content and education are important. But they only go so far. The next step is to apply all that knowledge. And that’s where trainings come in. Gather people with the same goal. Make them work together. Cowork, if I may say. Share their learnings. Their vision. 3/ You can do individual consulting. It’s great to share in groups. And, sometimes, you have one specific need you need to tackle. Right. Now. That’s where an expert comes in handy. They come to your organization. Solve your issue. And you’re good to go. Content, training, consulting. All these can help make coworking better. And surely many more. Watch the full interview on YouTube: https://www.rfr.bz/lnoiwlw

How do we keep growing the awareness of coworking? The brands? The stories? The work being done? The lives and communities changed? The businesses built? The jobs being created? Or the events that bring us all together to connect and learn? Doing so is a big part of why I started writing This Week In Coworking updates a few years ago. But, I've only ever publicly shared data on the most engaged TWIC medium - the official emails. But seeing the growth in visitors and page views since adding contextual profiles, job listings, and an event calendar to the website - I wanted to publicly share the metrics from this medium. In the graph, you'll see the website has done a great job of introducing non-email subscribers to your stories, brands and ideas since around 2021. It's now on track to see annual visits grow by 156% from 2023, to around 33,300ish. I know that's not a huge number compared to some parts of the internet... but... That is 33k visits from people wanting to learn more about coworking, your brands, your stories, whether you're hiring, and they can meet community leaders like you. And that's on our least engaged newsletter medium, by far. So a win for everyone in coworking, at least in my opinion. I truly hope you'll keep sharing your stories with me, so that together we can keep amplifying the impact coworking is making for years to come. P.S. As an EXTRA thank you to the brands who have upgraded to Brand Mode, I've also added your logos to the bottom of EVERY SINGLE PAGE on the site.

Do you know the coolest part of working at a coworking space like O4 Coworking? For me, it’s meeting interesting people and developing genuine relationships. Some examples from just this past week: ☕ the coffee I’m drinking today is a single-origin, organic coffee from Dodola Coffee (for all you coffee aficionados it's Papua New Guinea Organic Korofeigu). I got it from Boris Šešlija who roasts premium coffee in Gdańsk. You can taste his passion in every sip of the brew! 🤝 I discussed building communities (yes, I love communities) with Paul Kawiecki (it seems we already have a name 🤫) and Piotr Suwała. It takes just two open-minded people to start something valuable 🪙 🎤 with Maciej Majewski from Pitch Me Baby® ⚡ we agreed to organise Pitch Me Baby Trójmiasto vol. 2 in O4 Coworking. When goals and attitudes align, it takes 2 calls and less than 10 emails to put together a pitching event. 🎢 Radu just had to ride the elevator down a few floors from the TELUS International office in Olivia Centre Four so we could sit down and discuss how the Gdansk Startup Network is growing and what cool things they do with a growing group of entrepreneurs who are not originally from Poland. 👋 I bumped into Paulina Tranda, an expert in lean methodologies at EBMASTERS - employer branding community Trójmiasto. We worked together in two places, so it was cool to catch up. And we already might have an idea that links to the community I discussed with Paweł ;) And that’s just this past week. This is not to say I know a lot of people. When you are willing to engage, give your attention, and listen, you create a base for developing real relationships. Focus on the other person and who they are rather than how you might benefit from the relationship. You might say, “OK, you had many meetings. But what about work? What about outcomes?”. I know my priorities. My goal is to let as many people experience what O4 Coworking is like and what opportunities it enables. By meeting people, introducing them to one another, and truly engaging in one conversation at a time at a place that's built for fostering connections, I do just that. Remember - it’s not about the number of your LinkedIn connections. It’s about the experience of meeting people and hearing them. Oh, and good coffee helps ;)

“Let’s make coworking spaces the launchpads for innovation they were always meant to be.” — DeShawn Brown When I joined coworking way back in 2012, it was because I wanted to be part of this movement that championed collaboration, innovation and community. Now we’ve grown from a movement to an industry, and I’m still passionate about collaboration, innovation and community. Today's guest blog post from DeShawn and our partners at Coworks breaks down the following six ways coworking space operators can enhance your spaces, connect with members, and leverage technology to elevate your offerings. 1. Create key entrepreneurial moments 2. Tap into the power of tacit knowledge 3. Leverage community managers as key facilitators 4. Balance structure and freedom 5. Curate your community intentionally 6. Use technology to amplify engagement Read the full post: https://lnkd.in/gargRNZd

The London Coworking Assembly has run over ONE HUNDRED events, meetups and workshops since 2015, when Rebecca, the employee number one at Huckletree, held the first one. Our next one is on Tuesday, April 16th, at Peckham Levels, and it is not just another day. "Remixing Community for a Citizen Groove" invites you to a day of group discussion, Bar Camp and unconferences on evolving our local coworking neighbourhood spaces into vibrant hubs of connection driven by your participation and ideas. On the 16th of April, we are working on a new COWORK PLUS project. This project involves bringing your active, existing conversations, projects and coworking spaces together to help you connect and progress. Hence, our title: "Remixing Community for a Citizen Groove!" Our friend Joyce O., Head of the Affordable Workspace Programme for the London Borough of Islington, will lead you all in an "Ask Me Anything" session with Jon Alexander, Author of Citizen's and co-founder of the New Citizenship Project, to set the stage for the day. We aim to change how we approach coworking spaces and community engagement in our rapidly evolving world. ➡️ Be There: Shape Tomorrow The about COWORK PLUS isn't just an event; it's a turning point. By joining on the 16th, you will bring active, existing conversations and projects together, helping them connect and progress - this is already happening! If running your coworking space in a London neighbourhood has been challenging, joining us on April 16th will be very helpful. Come prepared to engage, share ideas, and collaborate. We are building better things for your coworking business, local communities and beyond. ➡️ Why this event now? We are running this event amidst global shifts like the pandemic's acceleration of remote work, wars and economic uncertainty. There has been a 44% surge in remote work, with nearly 5 million thriving in coworking spaces. With elections in 50 countries and 2 billion people going to the polls in 2024, it's clear that our connections and local actions have never been more crucial. We can't change the world, but we can find connection points in our neighbourhoods and local economies that connect and encourage positive momentum. ➡️ Secure Your Spot at COWORK PLUS You can come and go or stay for as much as you works for you. Tickets work on pay what you can, with a minimum of £12. If money hinders participation, don't hesitate to contact Laura, Stephen Kofi, or me directly, and we'll sort something out and get you in! This is co-created by Facework Group, London Coworking Assembly and Urban MBA. #coworking #communityisthekey #betterthings #coworkinglondon #ukcoworking #coworkingspace #coworkingcommunity RSVP here:
