As the The RMDA attempts another conference for 2024, I'll make note of a couple(now it's a few) things as a yearly reminder. This delivery association still has substantial issues to answer for. They have yet to file financials, they have yet to answer to the members that were hoodwinked by the previous board President, VP, CPA and members that ended up at dlivrd hiding within it's clutches. They have yet to make up in damages from suing one of their own members when they sounded the alarm on all of it. They were responsible for not one but two failed insurance policies which was not disclosed to their own members who were paying into it. I found out because my driver's injury claim was denied. Apparently I was paying into a policy that was cancelled retroactively due to non-payment and wasn't informed. I haven't even scratched the surface on that one yet. Sounds like Intact's way of getting out of paying the claim after the fact. They love posting about the conference yet why is there no pics/videos from 2023? I imagine the majority of sponsors saw the truth of the matter last year for themselves. The ones willing to support as a sponsor with a booth that costs almost twice as much as most other conferences, do so because they profit nicely. These few members are left along with the ezCater partnership that Nash facilitates despite knowing the truth of the matter. This was in thanks to the prototype integration that was made possible by me but no one talks about that. No one talks about the fact that the ONLY partnership to date the RMDA has today was made possible because of my support and assistance, but that's why I was sued to keep quiet. Can't have the truth out there flying around recklessly, now can we? So here I am, providing your yearly reminder that this is the association responsible for duping dozens of members and thousands of business owners and consumers into thinking they can be trusted. As a business, who you publicly support and partner with has implications and accountability. I'm still owed damages and the money has to come from somewhere. DOL Hits Pause on Fiduciary Rule: What It Means for You… A Texas judge just put the brakes on a new Department of Labor rule that would have impacted insurance agents advising on retirement accounts. Here's the deal: • The rule aimed to hold agents to a higher fiduciary standard, meaning they'd have to put their clients' interests first. • Insurance agents pushed back, arguing it would create unnecessary burdens and lawsuits. • The judge agreed (for now), issuing a temporary injunction to stop the rule from taking effect. What does this mean for you? • Potential relief: If you're an insurance agent, you might dodge a bullet when it comes to increased liability and compliance costs. • But stay alert! The fight isn't over yet. The rule could still come back, so it's crucial to be prepared. IT'S #SWELBAR. MUST BE A BUTT DIAL. After our first draft of The FAA Reauthorization Act of 2023, I (Senate staffer) told that SOB to "go to hell". Surely, the real #Swelbar isn't calling. He just doesn't understand politics and definitely does not get that we do not care about improving the efficiency of the air transportation system. He believes that the only law we are good at writing is one of unintended consequences that harms consumers. Can you imagine Bill McGee wanting to harm airlines in the name of the consumer? I did ask him for some thoughts on the #EAS and #SCASD programs. We incorporated none of them in that first draft. I tried to call him and explain. He did not answer. Said he was playing golf and does not answer the phone on the golf course. He read the draft upon his return. He wrote me and expressed both disappointment/disgusts. It is true, he did spend time talking with us, sharing his research, even drafted ideas on EAS after I asked. Even if most subsidized points east of Mississippi should not be funded because they can drive to an alternative airport with more service that gives the consumer a choice and a variety of fares to choose from - it's political and he does not get it. He liked a lot of the House draft saying it showed some guts. We increased EAS program funding in ours. He wanted any savings from a smaller EAS to be used for pilot training. In a subsequent email, he said what he really cared about was fixing the system - that perpetuating holdover sections of a 45-year-old law makes no sense; that data being put forth by trade groups in DC are half-truths. He signed off to me "not to waste his time" asking for things that are DOA. Then I, a committee staffer, did what any staffer should do - I told Swelbar "to go to hell". That I felt insulted after hours and hours of work. He thinks that this administration will go down as raising cost on the industry through regulation the most and it will actually harm consumers - not help them; that an EAS award to SY to serve EAU to LAS and MCO is Egregious, Asinine, and Stupid (EAS) policy; that the more we do of that will "crowd out" funds to be used as its drafters intended; questioning why the USG subsidizes service that harms another airport within a reasonable driving distance; and expand the ability to use SCASD grants to incent alternative revenue sources to locate at an airport. Politics is not common sense. This is politics, so - let's triple the funding for the EAS program and get rid of aircraft size so SY can add Rhinelander and Brainerd to the new essential points of LAS and MCO. Double SCASD but for air service only. He might be happy with some DCA slots; ATC funding that enables Admin. Whitaker to do his job. That will shut him up. Logic says that the only real small community air service fix is to expand flying under Parts 135 and 380. Politics too. If ALPA, AA and WN hate small community service/competition, then we do too. #Swelbar
