Have you ever stopped to think about the profound impact that trauma can have on our lives? It's a heavy topic, but one that touches so many of us in different ways. Here's a surprising fact: 20% of individuals who go through a traumatic event end up developing PTSD. Let that sink in for a moment. It's not just a statistic; it's a reflection of the real struggles people face. So, why does this matter? Why should we all be more trauma-informed? Because building a supportive community starts with understanding. It starts with acknowledging that behind every statistic, there's a person with a story. Trauma isn't just a concept; it's a shared human experience. By being more aware and compassionate, we can create spaces that foster healing and support. Let's break down the walls of stigma and open up conversations about mental well-being. Together, we can make our communities stronger, more resilient, and empathetic. 🌿 Welcome to C-PTSD Awareness Month 🌿 Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) can develop after prolonged, repeated trauma, often in situations where a person feels powerless or trapped. Unlike PTSD, which usually stems from a single event, C-PTSD arises from ongoing trauma, like childhood abuse or long-term domestic violence. This month, let’s raise awareness and learn how we can support those living with C-PTSD. Here are some meaningful ways to help: 🌱Listen with Compassion: Provide a safe, non-judgmental space for someone to share their story when they’re ready. 🌱Educate Yourself: Learn about C-PTSD to better understand what they’re going through. 🌱Be Patient and Present: Healing from complex trauma is a journey. Your steady, consistent support matters more than you know. 🌱Celebrate Small Wins: Recognize and celebrate even the smallest steps toward healing. Encouragement can be a powerful tool. 🌱Respect Their Boundaries: Respect their need for space or time. Understand that everyone’s healing journey is unique. This month, let’s commit to being a source of understanding, empathy, and kindness for those walking this path. Together, we can make a difference. 💚 #CPTSDAwarenessMonth #SupportSurvivors #HealingIsPossible #MentalHealthAwareness #CompassionInAction

Introducing #MeHealed #MaT: The Cure for Trauma We can’t stop trauma; bad things happen and will continue to happen. War, accidents, and natural disasters…but also childhood rape and violence, neglect, poverty, addiction, and broken homes. Traumatizing events and circumstances surround us no matter who or where we are within society. NOW, we can decide what happens after trauma. The FDA is currently reviewing whether to permit the use of MDMA-assisted therapy (MaT) for PTSD sufferers. As a participant in the MAPS Phase 3 clinical trial, guided MDMA therapy gave me the power to find my path back to resilience. Overnight, this therapy healed over 45 years of collected trauma and grief. I spent my life trying to avoid victimhood. Until MaT, I lived a life of shame. The truth is that it is predators who should be serving that life sentence of shame, but that thinking doesn’t help me. What matters is that now, with MaT, I have healed. We can heal. So this is ME, sharing the news that WE can survive and thrive after trauma. We can declare that we are not stuck in our suffering. We can restore our mental health and move forward. We have an opportunity to heal ANY trauma. #mehealed #MaT #notavictim #movingon #whatsnext #MAPS #Lykos
